The first time I played this game I was hooked. You really do feel like you are in ancient Rome or Greece or even Egypt as you build your own chariot, choose your driver and fighter and fight for the glory against the computer or your friends. It does get a bit old after a while, but that's understandable for any racing game. But after a while of not playing it, you get the urge to play it again, making it a good game. The graphics are pretty good, the horses look great, as does the scenery of the game. The voices of the characters always make me laugh, especially hearing the Roman fighter yell "I'll show you how to drive a chariot!". This game is fun for everybody, easy to learn and master and seems to never let me down. The music is great too, so great in fact, I wish they'd make a soundtrack to this game.

I was actually suprised how fun this game is, once you master the controls (I recommend doing the academy/ training classes first before any chariot races). This is definately the game to have when your friends come over, it'll entertain you for hours. One thing I really like is the replay, so when you crash, you can see it at different view, pretty funny at times. This game is definately worth it.

The biggest problem with the game is you can only have one campaign saved. Other then that the game is a fun game to rent and battle with your friends.

This is a great game for 2 players either working together or against each other. One person drive a chariot the other tries to kill off the other oppenents. Ripped from the center of Rome circa 100 AD and brought to you in the comfort of your living room. Its a real hoot. Not quite as much fun by yourself.

I say this game is very very good to play. It might be hard to catch on but you will get use to it. Well it is hard to aim and hard to drive (for me) but it will get easier. This is my reveiw.

I loved this game. I rented it at a competitor's establishment and loved it so much that I went out and bought it.
First, while it isn't that difficult, there are some sections (such as the one wheel training challenge) that are maddening. The single player gameplay isn't terribly taxing, unless you are on the most difficult setting.
The real value of the game is in the multiplayer. So many tracks and handicaps that you can place upon yourself along with quite a few characters and harness setups make for some even playing ground. If you don't have any friends, don't buy this game. I hope they either make a sequal or release Gladius soon.
GREAT Gameplay, VERY Satisfying

I bought this game yesterday after reading the reviews. I am very pleased with the action and challenges it offers. TRUE, having to control the driver AND warrior is mind-blowing at first, but it makes the game more challenging for a bit until you get the hang of it. My boyfriend and I LOVE playing two player driver/warrior team. It makes the game more exciting and fun, you may also race agianst other player for A bigger two player challenge! The game offers death matches, unlockings of new courses, horses, warriors, drivers AND chariots. You have a Hall Of Fame, training levels that unlock new things, arcade races, and of course, the tournament play. There are 22 driver/warrior combos, 19 tracks, multiple power ups, deadly weapons and lots of special moves. The down-side? NOT enough blood (actually, I can't think of a bit of blood), only seven different environments, and I would like to see the warriors engage in better battle from the chariots.
BOTTOM LINE: This game is loads of fun for me and pretty challenging. Its not exactly A RPG type, but it satisfies my thirst for a bit of fun for the type of game it is. I have to say, the best feature by far (in My opinion), is the two player co-op racing. The fighting isnt too brutal (PITY), so i recommend this game for ages 10 and up. You can also have up to 4 players!
Don't bother even renting the game!

Okay, to put it in a few simple words, "WCW Mayhem, WCW Backstage Assault, Stratosphere!" Circus Maximus is no exeption to the rule, the game play is incredibly monotonous, the Front End (Character Selection) is a joke, and the training missions; c'mon guys!
