When you first look at it, you think "YEA! SILENT HILL STUFF ON PSP!" This of course, until you realize it's a ripoff, and should be included in special features of the movie or game.
Don't waste your money on it, the comics are pretty bad, and the rest of it isn't even worth your time.

Unless you are a huge fan of the series, and are buying this just to complete your collection, ok but otherwuise STAY AWAY.
There are almost no redeeming qualities about this "game". There are almost no extras. If you've played the game or seen the movie, you've seen all of this before. The comic books are mediocre story wise at best. The only neat thing about this are the two "hidden" movies. But these are easy to find on youtube and other sites.
The menus are annoying, the interface is tedious, the music is good, but much more convenient on a CD, the trailers are nothing special... the interview with the guy who made the movie is nice, since it shows his passion for the series, but there's almost no addditional information about the series to be found here. Its like a disc of bonus features... but they forgot to put the features on.
interesting... but be warned.

I've been a Silent Hill fan from the begining, so being the owner of a bright and new, shiny PSP, this purchase seemed like a no brainer after I did a little research on the item. It features the entire comic collection (similar to the Metal Gear Solid Graphic Novel on UMD), some select songs from the games' sound tracks, and some behind the scens stuff for the SH movie... but in the end, it just felt more like a seperate "special features" disk for the movie, rather than a special treatment for the Silent Hill series. The comics were, in my opinion, disapointing, having thin, nearly laughable, plots, poor characters, and very little to do with the Silent Hill mythos or the games. The behind the scenes features for the movie were interesting at best, but felt limited, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it all included with the DVD release of the lack-luster film any ways. The songs are the only redeeming feature for this title, but instead of including the collection of stunning soundtracks in their entirety, we are treated to only about four or five songs from each of the game titles. In short, this really is just a collection of the worst parts of Silent Hill, in my honest and unflinching opinion. Were I a new comer to the series and started with this, I would be hard pressed to pick up an actual game. I am praying that the actual portable "Silent Hill Experience" will be the release of the up coming Silent Hill Origins, but as for this title, for the hard core completists only.

If your not a big silent hill fan like me, don't purchase this. If you are a fan this is a great UMD.

I am a SH geek.
Really really big one.
--I Was so happy to get this- but ended up being rather disapointed that there weren't at least a few more features included.
I am [still] happy with my perchase--- though I send warning toward the "nonOBSESSORS" to save their money.
Loved it but wish there was more

The comics are weird but funny. I wish there was more to do and look at in it, like more music and maybe some mini games but it is alright.
Buy it for the music

This psp title is great for silent hill fans. This is not a game, but rather a "best of" from other silent hill titles. The best reason to buy is the soundtracks from all previous silent hill games. The experience includes clips from silent hill 2 etc. nice, animation of a comic book and an interview with the creator.
Decent, but nothing really fantastic on here.

I bought this UMD at the same time I bought my PSP, because I was really just waiting for Silent Hill 0rigins to come out and needed something to do with my new toy in the meantime. I wasn't sure what this whole thing was about, but knew it had comics and videos. The extras are pretty cool actually, and I didn't pay much for it so I'd say it was an okay waste of cash.
When you arrive at the music menu, you can choose among 20 different music tracks from the games. Interviews with Akira Yamaoka and Christophe Gans are also on the disc. While I usually appreciate Lovecraft references, Whateley from The Hunger comic reminded me too much of Julian Sands in Warlock for me to take the character seriously. Silly looking guy with long blonde hair in a trenchcoat who magically disappears behind trucks. I am not impressed. Still, it's probably the best SH comic there is, not that it's saying much. It too me some time to warm up to the characters, and it's a totally over the top story, but it's okay.
The "hidden" videos were rather easy to find, a large X flashes on the screen. These are just the Fukuro and Kinoko videos.
Other than that, there is a large, pointless movie screen that hows images from the games. The whole menu are is Midwich elementary and you kind of zoom from room to room, which is kind of cool.
It's not a bad disc for Silent Hill fans, but there are all sorts of things I would rather have seen on it, such as old trailers.
Could have been better, but could have been worse

I adore Silent Hill and while I tried to not have any expectations, I felt slightly cheated.
I do recommend this in that I did like the interface (as unwieldy as the game). I love the intro screen and was vaguely annoyed it was tough to get it back, even after removing & replacing the UMD.
I was disappointed the most at the lack of substance. I was hoping to see the endings, a bit more of the making of the games, some insight on the characters, and the option to play all the songs.
The PSP is a potentially powerful platform in portable game media and I think Konami missed the opportunity to jump on that.
The Graphics novels, though a nice touch, were simply filler that unfortunately became the focus. These were written & illustrated by some of the more talented people in the comic industry (other comic lines that I do collect), but they were not suppose to become the crowning jewel. Sadly after going thru the UMD - these were the crowning jewel.
And the UMD contains only ONE video of the 3 that were present on the rare out-of-print dvd.
I did expect to get the DVD content of LOST MEMORIES with maybe some extras. Maybe they should consider releasing THAT on the PSP.
If you are a fan, get this but short of the graphic novels, you will not gain anything you probably did not already know or own.
I did read the reviews and I was warned. I bought it anyway. It could have been worse - but damn it could have been so much better.
Great product -- IF you're a Silent Hill fan

This is NOT a game. Some people seem to think it is. Just remember that it's a UMD, which basically means it's a video. It's got interactive menus, which are pretty cool, and set in the school of Silent Hill. Creepy atmosphere, exclusive videos and comics make this a very cool addition to your collection.
There are a few problems, such as in the sound track area, you cannot "play all," and must go back to the list every time and select the next song. I usually don't listen to the entire Silent Hill soundtrack, though, so this isn't that big a deal. The comics also are not as good as the box makes them sound, but that is just my opinion.
All in all, this is a very good addition to any Silent Hill fan's collection. However, I would not say that this is a must-have by any means. If you like the series, I recommend it. If you're new to the series, then I recommend playing the games first; a lot of this game would not be very interesting. Yet.
