This is a good game. It is based around the book Shadows of the Empire, by Steve Perry, which takes place between ESB and ROTJ. While the controls areannoying, the game catches Dash Rendar's personality perfectly. The movies are a bit odd, as you press a to go to the next scene, but the weirdness of that is paid off, because the movies have text, not sound. That way you don't miss anything. The soundtrack is good, but repetitive. The variety of weapons is large, but I don't agree with the sound of the blaster pistol. It is weak. Dash is an interesting character, but the game alters what happens in the book. For example, it was the Executor who blew up Prince Xizor's skyhook, Faleen Fist. Also, a squadron of Bothan Y-Wings and Luke Skywalker in his X-Wing captures the memory core, not Dash.

Good game, but lacking by today's standards

This game was first realeased in late 1996, when the Nintendo 64 was brand new. So it is not surprising that it's outdated. The cinematic scenes are the same kind of pictures you find in comic books. But then again, Lucasarts had no idea about the power of the N64. The game otherwise pretty much delivers. There are many weapons. The games ten levels are huge and very detailed. The music and sound are also top notch. The bosses won't always be beaten the first time. The only major problem is the lack of a multiplayer mode. So after you beat the game on easy, you can still beat it on other difficulty settings. But then, what will you do after that?

A Great Game

I got this game about a week after i got my nintendo 64 and Super Mario 64. I was 12 years old and i was obsessed with Star Wars. I was so excited to have a star wars game in 3D and on Nintendo!

The game is tough! The control isnt really that great, but back then i didnt care, i wanted to get through the game and find all the secrets. i wanted to explore the world of star wars through this game.

The graphics are not all that great, but they work. For being a launch title, it wasnt that bad. But going back and playing it now, i cant help to notice the flaws.

The music really draws you into the game. Its not suprising with a star wars product though.

I wasnt a fan of Dash Rendar or whatever his name was. I wanted to use a lightsaber in this game.

The boss battles in this game are insanely tough! I couldnt get passed Bobba Fett for weeks. I havent even played it on the hardest difficulty.

This is a great game, and it shouldnt be bashed as much as it is.
