Having played practically every type of Monopoly from the classic to computer I found this game to be unique in it's own right. Originally, I thought this game couldn't decide what it wanted to be, a game for kids, teenagers or adults. I've decided it has appeal to each group in its own way. The graphics are basically good, although the board itself was less than sharp in some ways. The animation of the pieces is cute and kids will like it. Even if you turn off the movement of the pieces, it still is funny as the pieces are engulfed by the board and pop up where they are supposed to. I wish when you build houses and hotels that there would be more animation than the buildings just appearing. They do however reflect the true appearence of the game. I just think maybe they could have made houses on Baltic Avenue and Boardwalk for example different, given the value of the properties. The menu system for trading and building is somewhat cumbersome. I felt it could have been consolidated better into fewer steps. It works but I think could frustrate gamers. My suggestion is to discuss trades with your proposed partner and decide exactly what's what and then enter your choices after agreeing to terms. I really liked the ability to modify the game play like "free parking, rent immunity, timed games"etc. This is an excellent addition. Overall, a darn good game with only a few flaws in my opinion. Highly recommended.

My children and I played this game and had a blast. The 3D characters are so cute. The Graphics are cool. There are some complicated features such as mortgaging properties, buying houses, but read the manual, try it out, then it is a breeze. I really like the feature at the end where it adds up all the assets for you :))) The winner gets a trophy (virtual trophy that is lol).

I think this game is great! You get all the joys of Monopoly without the hassle of counting the paper money. I play this at my cousins' house and we have a blast. The characters are adorable, the directions are very clear, and you can type your own name in so you always know who's turn it is. I think it is really a super game that the whole family can enjoy!

This game is quite fun but it got old pretty quick. I purchased mine through a pawn shop and had no directions and found it rather difficult to figure everything out. It is great to see different characters walk around the screen smiling or frowning. The game is very customizable: Free Parking, X2 if land on GO, Travel around board once before buying property, etc. You can even set the skill of your computer opponents! Great technology but Monopoly isn't the same without the old-fashioned counting.
cold in darby.

N64 Monopoly is a big comedown from the Super Nintendo version. It's overly complicated and most of the effort seems to have been put into animating the pieces around the board instead of making the entire game a fun experience.
Did MindsEye TEST this game before mass production?

Don't bother wasting your money on this game. First of all, the background is completely bland and boring, and an N64 Monopoly game deserve better. Plus, the piece movement leaves a lot to be desired. But, the real clinchers that make this game a big thumbs-down are the poor design and bad programming. The game freezes all too often (one example, of many, is when you buy too many hotels and houses, poof, your game is frozen and you must reset the system). Sometimes the game pays the wrong amount of rent. They've programmed one single controller button to do too many functions (so just when you think you're about to roll the dice, oops, you've accidentally approved the robot player's request to trade away your Boardwalk, and there's no undo button). There are tons of buttons on the N64 controller, why didn't they move some of the functions to other buttons so mistakes like that won't happen? And, believe me, it's VERY easy to make those mistakes due to the poor design of the game.) Uugh. I have more complaints, but you get my point. Did the programmers over at MindsEye Productions (or Hasbro) bother to TEST this game before they decided to sell it?
