It's a shame that, when a good game like this - with it's brilliant graphics, superb gameplay and almost completely bug-free engine - is released, not so many people hear about it. Yet other games that get released completely unfinished outsell the good ones by a bucketload. Simply put, this game is a very addictive, fun, exciting product. I have had it for 3 weeks now and I haven't experienced a single bug. The graphics are really top notch, and with a free scrolling camera that lets you go anywhere it makes it all the lot better.
The gameplay too, is great. You can play either Sandbox Mode or Scenario Mode, there are 9 scenarios and about 14 sandbox maps. In sandbox mode everything is customizable like frequency of disasters, events, amount of money you start with, amount of guests and more. In scenario mode you start on the tutorial level, and gradually work your way up to the higher, harder levels. My only grudge there is once you get the hang of how to pull in the money it can get a bit easy.
I find the actual in game gameplay brilliant. Once you've bought yourself a lot you fill it up with whatever you want to - and I mean anything from Nightclubs to Hotels, to Casinos, to Shops, to Strip Clubs, to Wedding Chapels and more. Sometimes the amount of options available to you is overwhelming, especially when you've just finished furnishing the outside of your lot, you build a casino, and you realize you have to do the same all over again but inside your casino. Some may like this, some may loathe this.
For some (like me) I love building the inside of my casino. If you can't be bothered then don't worry, each casino comes with ready made templates that if you choose to use will fill your casino up with all the essentials and neat furnishings without you having to lift a finger. I find it more fun myself to build the inside of my casino by hand.
On the inside you build everything from Gambling tables (including BlackJack, Texas Hold 'em, Carribean Stud, Let it Ride, Pai Gow, Craps, Roulette, Wheel of Fortune, Five Card Stud and Baccarrat), to slot machines (including Car Slots - where the prize is a car, or progressive slots, or the single slot machines), to Bars, Kitchens, Buffets, and of course all the maintenance offices such as cleaners, security and others. And you couldn't have a casino without all the beautiful furnishings such as flowers, fountains, lights, statues etc.
Vega$: Make it Big will provide you with hours of entertainment. If you're unsure about purchasing the game because you haven't heard of the developer or you don't trust it, then brush that aside because I assure you, you will not be disappointed.

Vegas Tycoon is a fun and addictive Sims-type game where you not only build the inside of your casino, but you also build on the outside. If you are a Roller Coaster Tycoon (RCT) fan you will find this game easy to navigate through. It is far more detailed and intensive than RTC since there are so many more options and detailed changes that can be adjusted during game play. For example, you purchase an entire lot and build either a canned pre-built casino or create your own from scratch. Then you can build themed hotels, bars, restaurants, shoppes and adult theme clubs. You can also build the inside of your own casino. You can decorate the casino to the point of changing elevation of the floors or adjusting the carpeting and wallpaper. You then add slots machines, craps tables, and a host of other tables that are available. Hire staff to help you manage your casino, even a Pit boss for comps! If you enjoy detail and creating your own Vegas world, this game is for you!!!!!
Too easy and a bit boring.

I have played a number of tycoon games, however this one just did not cut it for me. I like playing freemode, or as it is called in Vegas Tycoon sandbox. For my taste it is just too easy. All you have to do is build a large hotel and you are already making $3,000 a day. You do not get to customize the inside of your hotel, just the casinos, that is if you build one. And as I noticed the people do not really care about how nice your lot looks or how well the casino is layed out, they go in there anyway and spend the money. After you are making $90,000 a day after your 14th day there really is nothing more to build or to do. Very boring game.

This game is definitely not what I expected. This game is so much harder than I had initially anticipated. I tried this game out, and there's so much stuff you need to do in order to make your town a success. You need to build a bunch of buildings in order for ONE hotel to get good ratings and stuff. The other disappointment is: when you build a casino, you have to put one machine/table at a time. You can't put multiple machines/tables at once, and it gets really frustrating. Not only that, but you have to change the bet settings on each machine, and it takes too long, so I gave up. I dont think this game is worth it, so save your money and buy something else that isnt so frustrating.

This is a great game. The graphics are great and it is fun for all ages. There a few things that could be improved such as the "Explore Your Lot" mode and the casio building mode but all and all the game is overall very good. However, this game is WAY TO HARD. I can never get anyone to visit my lots even though they have casios, hotels, and many other things like places to shop and restaurants. The most I have ever had is 150 people while most neighboring lots have 800+ people. Anyway, a very challenging game.
Disappointing

I guess I'm just used to more "building" in the sim games. The only thing you can customize is the casino. Everything else comes predone and you can't customize anything else. It's really kind of boring after you get everything done. It's definitely not a game that can hold my attention for long.
Tried it on a computer that exceeds the Recommended req

..and it not only ran much much better than on mine, but was also totally awesome! Stunning 3D graphics displayed perfectly that wouldn't render with my older 3D graphics card! Terrific game play, and is at the top of its league in Tycoon's. The options, style's, theme's, etc are seemingly endless.
This game is a 'must buy' for Tycoon fans with up-to-date hardware! Definitely worth the game price!
Fun

Most fun I've had playing a PC game since the original Sim City. Not too many decisions to make which often makes games unplayable if you are my age (fifties).
