I have been around FPS games for 7 years now. The idea of expansion packs sets PC games apart from console games. In BF1942 there was only one good expansion pack as I saw it. In Road to Rome BF1942 was expanded upon in a natural progresion. It made sence and the gameplay was helped along by adding new armies, vehicles and maps. But it was not a real departure from vanilla BF1942. When Secret Weapons was released al it did was add lame jets and jet packs. GIMICK!!!!!.
So in my opinion the special forces expansion pack for BF2 is much like Road to Rome for BF1942. It is not way out and is a natural progression for BF2 to follow. There is no "experemental" junk for anyone to argue about and it is very realistic.
Overall the Special Forces expansion pack is very good and due to patching and fixes it will only get better. Go buy it and if you dont like it then complain. If you havent bought it and complain you need to go lay down in the street adn practice getting run over.

The maps are huge. Team play is inovative. Run, walk, fly, drive and parachute your way into combat. Execute special mission to cripple enemy offense/defense behind enemy lines. planes, helicoters, boats, tanks, apc, and too many cars to lists. Experiance unlocks weapons. Team Work is a must in bf2. this game kicks ass.

This expansion pack is good, and I would say worth the money, but it does have issues. EA has not been as supportive as they could have been for the entire BF2 game, including expansions. Load times and the frequency of VOIP problems are the largest complaints that I have about this game. Overall it is very good, but it could have been done better, it's not as good as the BF1942 expansions in my opinion but it does still add some worthwhile content. If you enjoy BF2 then you will enjoy SF.

This expansion pack is excellent when played online. Single player is not nearly as fun as the original Battlefield 2, though. Most people buy this expansion pack for the sole purpose of gaining different weapon unlocks in the regular Battlefield 2 game when played online.
Playing Special Forces online will limit you to 2-3 maps that are the most popular. I can never find servers running certain maps. Overall the quality of this expansion is equal to the original.

A great addition to bf2. Alot of fun with loads of new maps, vehicles and weapons. New armies also make it a lot of fun expanding the bf2 universe. There are also a host of new medals, badges and ribbons to achieve.

It's an "ok" game i bought this for the weapon locks on bf2.
I like the online play, pretty intense.
For players that have BF2...i must say this game gives you more strategic
chances than playing BF2 online, for example flanking the enemy from 2nd floor to 3rd floor with a rope to climb on.
BF2 made slightly better

BF2 SF continues the tradition of BF2 with the addition of new maps, vehicles, weapons, and equipment. I like the SF maps because they're medium sized and allow for a lot of different sniping locations and "things to do". Some of the BF2 64 player maps are so large that you find yourself running around from Pt A to Pt B too often.
Great Game

I found out it best to install bf2 ,then special forces then patch. That way you don't have to reinstall bf2.It has some sweet rides to go with it. I like using the quads and doing some sweet jumps.
