Great Game but can be Slow

My husband gave me this game for Christmas and I was completly sucked into the gaming pit for three days before I came up for air. So I think that this is a great game. The animals are make cute sounds and -- especially the babies --- and it is great fun (but expensive) to put a flamingo into a Lions cage. Hee hee. There are times though when the game play is tedius. Just waiting for things to happen, for example money to come in to buy new animals or improve existing animal displays or waiting for advances to be found can be pretty boring and I would love to have a fast advance button like in the Sims. Other than that this is a great game.

I downloaded the demo of Zoo Tycoon off of Microsoft.com It is a good demo, with enough detail and teasers to have made me play late into the night. I will be buying this game very shortly.

I love games like The Sims, Age of Empire, Caesar III and Black & White, etc. From what I can tell from the demo, this game is very detailed oriented, like the beforementioned games. Plus, it has the freedoms that micro-managing-builder gamers, like myself, live for! It does feel like it is a bit more geared for children but that doesn't take away from the fun. If you like the games mentioned about, I have no doubt you will get hours of enjoyment with Zoo Tycoon.

Similarity to Roller Coaster Tycoon is no coincidence...

When I heard that Zoo Tycoon(ZT) is coming, I expect zoo version of that famous and interesting Roller Coaster Tycoon(RCT). And I found that my speculation was correct...so much! Don't get me wrong. I'm not sorry that ZT is similar to RCT. Actually I'm a bit satisfied and relieved that this is not the case of Pool of Radiance which tried to be different from Baldur's Gate and a bit failed in a gaming sense. All in all, I enjoyed ZT as much as I've enjoyed RCT. And I prefer animals to coasters...I am actually having more fun. So why didn't I give it 5 stars? Because ZT has no breaking-through ideas which is, as I mentioned before, good for this game.

This game is fun but the reason why i put 4 stars,is because sometimes the guests can be mad and leave the area.But still it's fun!!!! Enjoy Amazon.com!

This wasn't actaully a horrible game, but it wasn't the best one i have ever played before. In zoo tycoon, you have to build a zoo, and make it so that lots of people come, and the animals and people are happy. It was hard for me to keep all of the animals happy when my zoo got bigger, because i had to make sure all of these other animals were happy first. At times you have to check in with your visitors to see how much they like the zoo. Usually they will have some problem for you to solve by buying something- like more bathrooms or garbage cans. So, all in all, this wasnt a horrible game, but it could have been better.

I wish they would ship Zoo Tycoon to Austrailia

I liked the demos when I first downloded them,But they are quickly becoming boring.I am rating the game on the Demos so do not take much notice of it.I'v seen the game in Brisbane but was not able to afford it.I hope that amazon will beable to ship it to Australia in time for my birthday.

I hate my maintenance people, I have about a hundred of them and still my park is trashed they just walk around out back and do nothing. My food is maxed out and my Entrance fee is also and they still come in droves. Needless to say this is a dull and boring game with little challenge and little of that "pride of accomplishment feeling". I did learn some new things about my animal's habitats though...

I bought roller coaster tycoon and loved it, but this is just as good. It's pretty expensive, but it's totally worth it. Plus, it runs on tons of different computers. It has great graphics, never slow, tons of scenarios(but you can play a free game too), instrution manual and helpful tutorial. Based on reviews for the other tycoons (besides RCT+RCT2)there is not many good ones; and even if the reviews are good, then it won't run on your computer. So, this is one of the best "tycoon" games.

This game is really bad.who would want a zoo game .Whats so fun about it. Get GRAND THEfT AUTO,VICE CITY. Your really stupid if you get zoo tycoon no matter what. thank you
