this game doesn't have the greatest graphics. it is 2d. but it is a fun game. but online is where all the fun begins. there is a huge comunity with all sorts of kids, clans, and home made levels. i have to say that it is my favorite game.

ps. Join CC (cracco clan)

I have spent the last five years playing Jazz Jackrabbit 2, mostly its outstanding multiplayer mode, and am definitely better for it. The community rocks (the official site is down, but the community site Jazz2Online is very active) and, after downloading a few patches, the multiplayer mode is a blast. A must buy for anyone age 5-20, and even for parents. A supportive and highly family-friendly community is only the start.

I thought the first one was awsome!

I cant belive they made a sequel to one of the best games ever made!
Plus with spaz making it even more fun (and adds a rabbit with a personality closer to mine) I think its great!

This game rocks! Got it about 5 years ago and still play it! The best part is how you can add your own music, make tilesets and levels, and play on multiple diffulculties. The ability to download and play other people's levels makes the game refreshing, and lose it's boredom. The level editor is easy to use and you can even download tilesets and music to use from the web! This means that your levels can be as good or better than the original!

If you have ever played the original Jazz Jackrabbit, like me, this game is pretty lame. The animation's worse, which is stupid since the original was a DOS program. The music's not as fun, and is totally absent in many places. Spaz should have been left out. The ammo capacity is too low: show too much of a preference for any bullet other than the default, and you're apt to run out when the designers decide not to put as much in the level you're playing... which, since many ammo containers seem keyed to what you already have, means that you may never get it again. All the interesting stats shown at a level's completion (like percentage of goodies gotten) is gone, as is the final step of shooting a sign to finish the level. Speaking of sign-shooting, what happened to fun bonus levels (where you had to find and shoot the sign to get in), like the land of the protector birds? Although even the protector birds aren't as good: the gun barrels above the beak are ugly and pointless, and the fun challenge of trying to make them last through as many levels as you can is gone. Even the menus have lost some coolness-in Jazz Jackrabbit, the menus worked with your computer's clock, so if it was Christmas (for example), it would be snowing and a picture of Jazz would be wearing a Santa hat.
And what is left? The multiplayer's decent, but the modes grow old fast. At least half the levels are a poor rehash of the original (the castle looks like the original Medivo with a few changes), and most of the rest are full-on ripped off from bonus episodes, with little difference even in the enemies you fight. Unless you consider giant purple carrots that get in the way as you walk "original," go for the first game... or, if you can't find it, buy Duke Nukem II, which is of similar caliber and heavily influenced (dare I say that the designers copied?) many gameplay features.
We always knew that movie sequels could be pretty darn bad...I just didn't know that computer game sequels could be so disappointing.

Fun But Simple

Having never played the original Jazz Jackrabbit, I can't compare the sequel to the first one. What I can say is that the 2nd one is a bit TOO easy, although the mulitude of levels and the variety of those levels kinda makes up for that. After playing it through one time, I'll probably never play it again, but it certainly made for an entertaining afternoon.

The multiplayer aspects, however, are what really makes the game.

Great Game!

This is a great game. It is just like the older versions. It doesn't say that it runs on Windows XP, but it runs on my Windows XP operating system quite nicely. I have so much fun playing this game. Well worth the money.
