FUN Classic Game

I first played this game sometime around 1997, so yes, the game is quite old, game out in 1995 I believe...I'll tell you this though, this was one of my favorite computer games of all time, and even today, 10 years later, it's still in my top...and no, I'm not 45, some old guy who loves "the classics" and hates those graphic-intensive games of today, I'm barely 21, I own both a PS3 and XBox 360, along with pretty much any other system that game out before that, and I still love this game to death. If you're a fan of the Myst series, or any other "click and solve puzzles etc." kind of games, you'll love this game for sure. Highly original puzzles to solve, great storyline, and amazingly fun climax when you finally face your "destiny"...won't spoil it for anyone. No, the graphics aren't amazing, yes, the acting is pretty cheesy and bad, but honestly, it's what gives this game it's charm, guarantee that after playing and beating the game, you'll remember all of the characters and their names. FUN FUN game, you will not be disappointed.

This is one of the greatest adventure games I have ever played. It is hilarious and entertaining. I wish there were more games being made like this today.

I don't leave many reviews, but this is just a good old fun game for putzy around on a Friday night. My favorite part is just playing poker with 3 other gunmen in the saloon. I once played 4 hours of poker and drinking beer, just like I would with friends. For an old 1995 game, it is still a fun game. If you find it, just pick up. I run it on an old ACER (200Mhz) with a Windows 2000 O.S. and it seems to run good. I haven't put it on my new computers yet.

When I first got this game, I was kinda wonderin what kind of game it was. After a while of playing I realized what kind of game it was. Then I started to really get into it. It took me several months to finally get it beat. It's still challenging today. If you're looking for a game to spend a lot of time on this is the oe for you.

Well, I personally think Dust: Tale of The Wired West is a great game. With over thirty characters to talk to, things are always interesting in this game. It can be frustrating, when you are not sure of what to do next, but I assure you..stick with it, you will be glad you did once you move on. Cyberflix [Dust's creator] certainly exceeds in computer games. If you liked Dust, try Titantic: Adventure Out of Time..also a great, adventure/strategic game.

Great Game

All of Cyberflix's games have been great, and Dust is no exception. Although the graphics of this game were not as good as in Titanic and Redjack, they were better than a lot of games. Set in an old western town, Diamondback, this game includes a large cast of characters, good humor, and plenty of adventure. You can talk to different characters, and get things and information from them, use objects to help you (or hurt you), and do a little bit of fighting. After hearing what a character has to say, you have a series of choices of what to say. This game is witty, challenging, and exciting.

A diamond in the rough

Dust is one of those games that has low budget and price written all over it.. yet is a joy to play almost throughout. The basic gist of the game is that you are a stranger drifting through the old west. After a near gunfight with a known Billy the Kid Wannabee, you flee into the country to come across a out of the way town in the middle of the desert. The town sits almost forgotten to the world, yet the inhabinets are far from ordinary.

Unlike many adventure games, Dust uses its characters to the fullest. In almost every scene a character is present, subject to your questions and interaction. Few times will you wander aimlessly seeing nothing but well structured graphics to keep you company. Although the game used real actors(term used loosely) to do the interaction scenes... the acting is pretty atrocious. However the game's humor and mulitple characters more then makes up for it. The game's plot coasts constantly through, and actually makes you eager for every new twist and makes you hate to see the game end.

The game also isn't a lineal, "you have to do this to advance" type game for the most part. The game actually is fun in that there are several different tangents that your actions can cause. Although they don't affect the game outcome.. they provide different directions for the characters to act.

My only major gripe of the game was the underworld portion. Ninety percent of the game was in the town, and was flat out fun at every turn. However the underworld is not only much more difficult then the rest(got to know the certain way to beat it), it strays from the tongue in cheek mood of most the game. I would have been perfectly content with the game ending after the gunfight with "The Kid".

However if you see Dust in a store.. its definatley worth the [money], and couple of days you will put into it. You probably will never forget the characters of the game.

Give it a try

Dust is truly a challenging game. Its challenging puzzles, laughable characters, and demonstrates many examples of irony. Take Dr. H. Rodham for example (Flowers? I thought we were finished with her). The entire game, despite being a bit slow, is the kind of game that you look back at and think, "Wow!"
