As I said in the title, I LOVE this game. It was a great idea to get the right voices recorded in this title as I usually let it run just to listen to what they're saying even though I can read it myself. I couldn't drag myself away from this game - it was so much fun...and actually, I found myself so immersed that often I would consider the issues I was presented with, morally. I still remember the feelings of being suspicious of people or breaking into someone's home etc.
The only things I didn't quite like were that you couldn't always save when you wanted to. I had to press CTRL ALT DEL if I wanted to go to bed! instead of pressing the START button. It's seriously addictive and I played for about 2 and a half really really full days. I went to sleep at 1am and 2am.
There was one spot I got stuck and that was where I had to call someone on the phone. All I had to do was to drag the arrow next to the mobile phone I have. I even went on Google and looked for message postings about it and quite a few people had that problem as it wasn't obvious and we weren't informed - so they should fix that user experience issue up...but otherwise, Well done guys!!!!! :)
PS My character looked shocking in a skirt! Her legs are very beefy!! hahaha!!
Does it work on Windows Vista?!!

I got this game used for $5, so I feel I really got my money's worth. The game is extremely fun and addictive. I don't even watch the show, but now I want to.
The problem is I literally had to restart my computer every time I wanted to play, and often in the middle of playing it would start acting odd and occasionally just lock up. My computer exceeds ALL of the minimum requirements and I have a compatible video card (GeForce 7800 GTX), so that's not the problem. Just be aware this can be a buggy, unstable game and it may not make a difference how powerful your computer is. I have been able to play games that are much bigger resource hogs with everything turned up to the max but this one just didn't run well.
Don't buy this game....

I purchased this game yesterday. I enjoy watching Desperate Housewives and like playing video/pc games. It was on clearance at BJ's for $4.10, so I figured, why not? I tried to run the game unsuccessfully MANY times on my PC. I used all of the techniques to trouble shoot the problem, but nothing worked. It is having trouble with the DirectX. I checked the version and it should work with the game, but does not. It was only $4.10 wasted, but a disappointment. In case anyone else has the same PC, it is a Dell Dimension 3000.
Finally - I can play it!!!!

Well I got this game for my birthday last year and like many people I couldn't play it on my pc or my son's brand new pc. I put it away and thought about it every now and then. I just got a new notebook pc for my birthday this year and decided I would give it a try. I had hopes but prepared myself for the likely chance that it wouldn't work. To my surpirse it worked great! And ran smoothly too. For those of you wondering I have a Dell Inspiron 1521 (pink) and got it for $880, but I added dvd burner and webcam so it was cheaper to begin with. Good luck!

This is a really good game, but be prepared to upgrade. Bought this for my wife. She has a 2.3 Ghz pentium, with a 512 mb video card, 512 DDR RAM and 5.1 surround sound card. It takes a good 3-5 minutes to load the game, but once it's loaded it runs fine. My brother bought this game for his wife and had to upgrade the RAM and video card to get it to run. Evidently there are some video card incompatabilities, so make sure you check the web site before you buy.
Fun with the housewives of Wisteria Lane

Just a short review. I purchased this game a couple of weeks ago and
while I am not a fan of the TV show I did have fun. I completed the
game in a few days and it was fun, though some things did annoy me.
The game speed at times frustrated me. I couldn't coordinate on some of
the cooking tasks because on my computer the game went fast, too fast
to keep up with the animation on the chopping and cutting stages on some
of the cooking tasks.
In the end I ended up scheduling dinner service for my family in the game
and that did help a little.
It's a BIG gripe of mine that modern games don't have some sort of
control to make the game either run faster or slower. Would have
been of much help with my bad eye / hand coordination.
But the household tasks obviously are not that integral to the overall
game as long as you meet all the goals and tasks outside of your home,
especially the big dramas that concern your son. I AM NOT POSTING
SPOILERS.
The graphics were good, very good. The movies were nice and it did feel
like an episode of the TV show in several acts.
Overall a fun game, but with flaws. I don't think I'd go back for a second
go at this game unless they created a patch to slow down some of the
mini games.
Basic But Fun

This game is basic. You will enjoy Sims more. However if you are a big fan of the show you will want to own it and play it. It is a close ended game so you will eventually beat the thing leaving you able to move on to something else. For some of us it may leave us wanting more or better.
For the current price tag it is a great buy. Just remember to double check your system stats VS what your computer has installed. If there is not enough ram or your video card is behind in the times it will be slow or buggy. You do not need a top of the line computer but I would not recommend this if you have the absolute min equipment listed as required.
COOL game but....

If you want a game that's full of gossipy, back-stabbing, scheming, manipulating women then this one is for you.
Once you get past the graphics that really could have been done much better than what they were, and the awkward way your character moves around, and how slow the character walks to a destination beyond their own home, the game is pretty decent. I haven't played mine all the way through yet, but I can already tell that this is one game that could have entirely different storyline outcomes each time you play if you make different choices during gameplay.
Mine included some retail coupons as well as some unlockable and printable coupons within the game, which I have yet to unlock any. Maybe that's why it was only 10 bucks, as an advertising gimmick. Glad I didn't pay more for it though, because although it is fun, it's not worth more (at least not to me) because of the poor graphics and game quality.
