I bought this game in May and I was pretty exited when I recieved it. The only problem was that it froze up on me every few seconds. My dad and I tried to return it but the policy on Amazon[.com] is no returning video games. My advice to you is to buy this game if you are ubsessed with SpiderMan somewhere over the rainbow.

Too violent for children, should be teenager or above

The graphics are great, commands are exciting for teenagers and above. Definitely NOT a game for younger children. We experienced our child getting violent and trying to practice the moves that appear on the game. In our opinion the rating agency did a POOR job. We REMOVED the game from the computer and hid the game away from our child.

What can I say. This is one of the best games I have ever played. The graphics are wonderful, there are many cool villains, like Shocker, Vulture, Scorpion, and Green Goblin. Plus, I haven't even completed the game yet, so I'm betting there are more cool baddies to fight with. Also, the gameplay is terrific, and there are many funny and/or cool quotes, like: "You need to learn a lesson, web head! And Shocker's school of rock is now open!", "Hey Vulture, didn't your mother ever teach you that stealing is wrong?" and "Save it, ugly! The last thing I wanna do is side with a psychopath like you!" On top of all that, the game is CHALLENGING! The Spider- Man 2 game was good, don't get me wrong, but it was a mite too easy. This game gives you a run for your money and is WAY better than the still cool Spider-Man 2 game. You even can use combos with punches and kicks, and you also have some webbing all the time, be it a little or a full gauge. All in all, this game is wonderful and superb, and I recommend it to all who have any sort of liking for superheroes whatsoever at all.

I was getting this for my birthday, and me and my parents had seen all the trailers and looked at all the screens, and we decided it was okay. But Activision had 3D animated everything in the trailers (Gameplay in trailers such as hitting and punching, effect of blows totally different in the real game). And they had picked out harmless screens. Well, anyway, the game had me all excited, and I downloaded the demo to show my parents. The Everyone rating should be Teen. The effects of henchmen being hit was brutal! You should have seen it! We decided I couldn't get the game, and I could understand why. Think about this. Don't we have enough violence in the world? Saddam Husein probobly started off small, and got bigger and bigger. And now he's on the world's most wanted list. IF WE PLAY THESE TYPES OF GAMES WE'RE PUTTING OURSELVES IN THE SAME KIND OF DANGER. You might say "Well, this is small, and you're fighting crime, so what the heck, I can play this or see this". But it isn't like that. Saddam Husein probobly said that too. So stay away from these types of games. There's enough voilence in the world. If you don't believe me, go watch the news. (I rated this game a star because I had to to post this. I rate it negative infinity.)

First graphics are awesome.....everything else is a let down. My PC is a P4 1.7G with 256RDRAM and Geforce 3 Ti 200 card with 128DDR. This game locks up and freezes after about 10 min!! So I downloaded Activision's 1.1 patch....now it freezes after 5 min. !!!!! Might as well use the discs as drink coasters now!! Like one reviewer said it was [a great price] so I bought it....now I know why it was [low-priced]!!! I probably can't return it to the store so I'll call Activision for a return authorization.
On the box it said my card would support it....as it should bacause every other new game I have plays flawlessly. DON'T BUY IT UNLESS YOU HAVE THE LATEST AND FASTEST VIDEO CARD!!! STAY AWAY!!

I have mixed feelings about this game. 1) They used voices from the actual actors such as Toby McGuire and Wilem Dafoe. 2) Graphics were great.

However, the faults were the combat and some of the sequences that happened in the game didn't happen in the movie!! Shocker, Vulture, Scorpion were thrown in with the Green Goblin. I think this was a huge mistake. What would've been better would be to stick with the theme of the movie and that is Spiderman fighting the Green Goblin. It was very confusing to have to fight Shocker and Vulture because their character and story never was developed early on in the game and it was like, "Here are two other bad guys, in case you got bored with chasing after Green Goblin". Another thing I didn't care much were some of the lame levels. I mean, having to "chase" Vulture and/or Green Goblin through buildings was just plain stupid. I finished the game so I can honestly review it. The game was very anti-climactic. I'm playing the game again having beaten it and unlocked some of the features. I just wish they would've allowed me to unlock costumes or upgrade my power instead of gallery photos of Vulture, Shocker. It's a shame they wasted Vulture, Shocker and Scorpion like they did. They could've expanded the franchise by coming out with a game where Spidey battles each one as a lone nemesis. I gave it a 3 because 1) Graphics were very good, 2) Controls were easy to use, 3) voice acting great. It fell short because of two reasons, 1) Lame levels that were very uninspiring, 2) Villians added but not developed, 3) End of game anti-climactic.

The best thing about this game is the price!!! I never would've paid the $49.99 price for this game. It wouldn't be worth it. It can be found for $29.99 or less!! I can't say I recommend it, however, I won't get rid of it either. Anyone want to buy my Silent Hill 2, now that's a game I'd get rid of!!!

After watching a friend play this game and playing a little myself, it looked sweet. When I got it however, I found it far too challenging, even on the easiest setting. Question: WHERE IN THE MOVIE DO ANY OF THE BAD GUYS CARRY GUNS AND WHERE ARE THE ROBOTS THAT SHOOT MISSILES AT YOU? Answer: NOWHERE. So why put them in the game? Spidey really doesn't have a good enough defense for either of these and both do way too much damage. Also, they should have had more city levels where you swing from the sky around buildings and less indoor fighting levels.

Don't waste your money or your sanity!!!!!!

I just knocked my keyboard drawer off the runners and smashed the CD into little pieces... Is that any idea of how I feel about this game??? It has great graphics, but the controls are like that of Indiana Jones; Emperor's Tomb, meaning absolutely terrible!!! Many times, I couldn't get the character to stop or to jump when I hit the buttons! And, like Indy, no saves on tough spots. You have to start all over again from the very beginning!!! Jesus, don't game designers EVER listen to gamers??!!! Fortunately, I only paid $5 for this game. Busting the CD into little pieces WAS gratifying... God, I hate it when designers come up with shoddy games like this! DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP!!! REALLY!!!The only thing positive I can say about it is the graphics. They're terrific, but it doesn't do you any good if you can't control the character! I even downloaded a patch, hoping that would correct the problems, but no good. Honestly, it's more aggravating than the money you waste on it. Absolutely terrible, dirty, stinking rotten ##@%+%&##!!!!!!
