I wanted to like this game. After playing through Splinter Cell, I thought this game would be awesome. After renting the game, I found that the controls are different from the first Splinter Cell. Although the manual says that you can zoom (binoculars) with the C-stick downflick, it's actually a light press of the L trigger. Also, using the SC-20 rifle is difficult to use - the sniper view also requires a light press of the L-trigger, which is the same button to hold your breath. There is another typo in the manual - I can't remember the exact details. I found the graphics to be improved in comparison to the first game. However, the multitude of checkpoints made the pace of the game unnecessarily slow. Panning the camera can make the framerate drop noticeably.
My recommendation - rent it for yourself first to see if the game is for you. After playing other stealth action games, Pandora Tomorrow is just not up to par.
i cant play it.

I picked this game up at Blockbuster without knowing anything about the whole stealth/tactical genre. Needless to say I had a GIANT learning curve to overcome. I think I spent almost 2 hours total trying to get past the train section of Saulnier. But...
Once I got the hang of the game and all the different variables pertaining to this style of gameplay became clear to me, this game was really cool and fun to play. Sometimes the AI is goofy and someone will spot you for shooting a lamp out near them, and then in the next section it won't get you spotted, go fig. If you can get past glitches like that and aren't a hard core tactical shooter fan, this game is worth your time. The replay value on it is really good - I've already beaten the game and now I'm trying to go through without tripping any alarms, after that I intend to take on the hard difficulty setting.
Now for the practicals...
The graphics are above average in gameplay and very good in the cutscenes, the music during gameplay is quiet, but filled with enough ambient noises to keep you guessing at least for the first run through. Ok, the voice overs suck, in particular the terrorists, they sound just like American game programmers - no accents whatsoever, lame, lame, lame. Lambert is an idiot, wait till you get to the last level to hear him tell you "The Elevator Stopped." Thanks Captain Obvious, I couldn't have figured that out on my own.
Overall, this is a fun game and worth the $7-15 you might drop on it
Got it as a gift, haven't played it much yet

It looks like a good game from what little I've played it; I thought it was a multi-player game but I don't think it is. I got a Wii right after I got this game, so I haven't played it much. I've played other Tom Clancy games, this one seems just as good so far - I've only played the first level. If you like the Tom Clancy games, you would probably like this one. (This was written by my 17 year old son.)
A lame followup for a great game

First of all, in response to "a gamer", this is not a first person shooter. Second, it is a very poor excuse for a Splinter Cell sequel. The dialouge is inane, and the rules that I hated about part one are even more strict in this one. Now, not only will you be spotted in the light, but most of the time you will spotted in pitch darkness. Then that idiot will come over the line and say "What the hell are you doing? The mission's over!" I wouldn't mind that style of gameplay so much if it were consistant, but the game is full of glitches (or just plain careless programming) that will cause this to happen. Sometimes you will sneak out of the shadows and grab someone, but if you made a little bit of noise they will immediately call in the alarm. The funny thing is, you have this friggin' guy in a choke hold, and he's having a conversation about an intruder on his radio! Meanwhile, your boss is shouting in your earpiece what an idiot you are and how the mission's over! All this time, I'm thinking "why is this happening? Here I am, holding this guy in a choke hold, in pitch blackness, with nobody else around, and my mission is falling apart around me?! If I wasn't such a poorly rendered collection of data...if this were Spinter Cell part one, this wouldn't be happening." I feel sorry for Sam Fisher. He should have retired before the agency lost their minds.
I highly recommend that Ubi Soft never tries to coattail on a great game's name by releasing sloppy work like this again. I am dissapointed and will be very vigilant about buying Ubisoft products again. The only reason I give it two stars is because it still has a pretty cool atmosphere, but that certainly isn't enough to make it even a mediocre game. I have played worse though.

This is probably my favorite game right now. Everybody is saying get it for Xbox or gamecube because they have better graphics, and gamecube has an extended single-player mode. But PS2 is equal to them all. The graphics are still awesome, and if you play multiplayer, you won't be going outside for a long time. But, around the middle of the game for a level or two, the game gets a little into the trial-and-error deal. Otherwise, you must get this game no matter what.

I have found out that the best systems to get this game on are gamecube and xbox. They will have the same graphics. Ps2 is not as good good on this game as the other consoles. But xbox and Ps2 will have online action plus original multiplayer when you play on the same console. Gamecube won't have online but will have multiplayer. But... Gamecube will have extra weopons and a longer single player mode. Ubisoft said each console with have something special on this game. Gamecube has better single player mode and ps2 and xbox have online. I stronly recomend buying this game for gamecube. I own an xbox and a gamecube so I hope I helped your desision on which console to get it on. So.... GET IT ON GAMECUBE!! ITS THE BEST BEST GAME TO HALO!!
Best first person shooter yet

Splinter cell Pandora tomorrow incorporates all the pluses of the original and all the best parts of it are even better. You can do all the moves of the original, plus a few more. The graphics are even better than the first and there are several outdoor missions in which the sun either sets or rises gradually, changing the shadows in which you can hide. Speaking of hiding, there is now an on screen gauge that tells how visible you are to enemy mercenaries.
There is now a unique multi-player that allows you and three others to play each other, X-box and PS2 have it, but I'm not sure about Gamecube. You can play 1 on 3 or 2 on 2; one side are the spies and the other are the mercenaries. Each are evenly matched, but each have different advantages. The spies can see from a third person view allowing them to be more aware of their surroundings while the mercenaries have a first person view allowing them to shoot more accurately, but they can't see behind or to the side of themselves. Each side has their own gadgets and each have their own weapons as well their own objectives, the spies have to complete an objective and the mercenaries have to stop them. The mercenaries have auto-matic weapons that can easily kill a spy but all the spies have are one shot pistols that can only stun an enemy, thus the only way a spy can kill a mercenary is either by jumping on him or breaking his neck. The mercenaries have the advantage in open combat, but their poor vision means that a spy can gain the upper hand with stealth, at least until they're discovered. This means that both sides need different strategies to win.

This is, without a doubt, the greatest game ever made. I recently bought Pandora Tomorrow and it's shaping up to be even better. Anyone who would give this game less than 5 stars more than likely doesn't own it, or hasn't beaten it. The ending video is awesome, and the overall story is the best i have ever seen. If you disagree with my review, YOUR WRONG.
