Better than a Shrek sequel!

I had a chance to preview this title at CES and I was really knocked out by the graphics and the gameplay. It looks like solid winner and goes a long way toward making up for the dud that was the first Shrek game for XBox. This one is geared toward younger kids, and, in spite of that, should be fun for the whole family. A solid choice for kids this holiday season!

I picked this game up with my initial xbox purchase. I was looking for something that my wife would like to play since Halo and Medal of Honor are not her style. After getting the kids down for the night, we fired up the xbox and started the Super Party.
You have your choice of 6 characters with the Magic Mirror as the Host. Game play is turn based and challenges can be between teams, two players or all players. The games vary in difficulty but are fun. We played it for a couple of hours and can't wait til her friends come over to play.
Graphics and sounds are great. Instructions for each game are listed prior to the start. Pretty much an insert and play game. I didn't think I would enjoy it this much, but it brings back the memories of Mario party when it was first released. A fun game for all. The more players, the better it is!
Great graphics, fun games, but a few flaws

Shrek: Super Party has great graphics, and a good sense of humor if you liked the Shrek movie. Also, it's got a good variety of games that are a lot of fun with a group. There are some frustrating flaws though. First, many of the games are very difficult if you are color blind (like me). There are a few games that I simply cannot play. Second, the description of the games is pretty limited, so it takes a few times to get the hang of it. This is fine if you are going to be playing with the same people over and over, but when you have some people playing for the first time, they'll be pretty confused by a bunch of the games. Mario Party does a much better job letting you learn what the controls are and letting you practice before actually playing. Finally, in the tournament mode, I don't think Shrek does as good a job of showing the overall story and character positions as Mario Party. I was tempted to give 3 stars because of these flaws, but once you get beyond them, there are lots of fun mini-games in here.

We bought this game to play while on vacation, and it turned out to be a huge hit! Our blended family includes kids of ages 2, 5, 6, 8, and 11, and we were all hooked (parents included). The littlest one likes to watch, or pretend to play by holding a control. We found the skirmishes to be the best part, which can be played by between 1 and 4 players at a time. Five months later we're still playing it at least every couple weeks, which is unheard of in this household.

Shrek Super Party is one of my favourite games. My partner isn't very much into video games but Shrek is the only one he loooves to play.
It's very fun to go from the mini-games called "Epic Battles" to the "Daring Duels", the characters look very much like the ones in the movie, the graphics are AMAZING, the music can be contagious. If you want to spend a good hour of your time with your loved one, family and friends, definitely this is the game to go.
The only bad thing is that the game is intended for 4 people so if only 1 or 2 are playing, the CPU controls the rest of the characters, which makes it unfair since most of the times it ends up winning. Other than that, go for it!

Bought Super Party because I had the Shrek game. This is much better! My grandkids laughed and laughed. The best is the Scooter races through the castle. There are many different games in the "Skirmish" category that keep it interesting...they're not all the same with different backgrounds.
An absolute blast!!! MY KIDS ARE HOOKED...

This game is good clean fun. I easily recommend it if you have kids. I have a 4 year old and 7 year old and they can't stop playing this game. I give them 1 hour a day to play games(sometimes a little longer) and this one has been a hit for weeks. It's good, clean and healthy competition and there's no cursing or blood and gore to give the kids nightmares.
Squishy fun for all

As an avid Mario Party fan I wanted to find a similar game for X-box. This one was definitely a good buy. It's sarcasm and squishy bug noises are entertaining for young and older players. Although it's better with 4 people, it's still a good time if you play alone.
Perfect for families to play together!

I played this game at a friends house and decided it was time to buy an XBox! My husband and I have been playing it for six months now.
Anyone that has opposable thumbs can play this game. You only need to use the left thumb pad and two buttons with your right hand. This is a fun game for the controller-challenged, children, and is stimulating enough for more advanced players. Some of our friends visited us and were surprised at the depth of involvment in this "children's" game.
The biggest plus to Shrek is that you can set the time frame that you want to play. So you can play for anywhere from one-half of an hour up to two hours. If your kids are junkies, you can limit them to only playing one game, and you will know that they aren't going to be zoned out for the next six hours.
This game is similar in style to Mario Super Party, but, once again, uses less buttons on the controller. You also have the option of playing the mini games.
An all around A+.

I read some bad reviews right after I bought this game, so I was going to return it before opening it. But I decided to open it and play. I am so glad that I did! It's a really great game to play with friends. The graphics and ideas are cute. The games are not complex, so you don't have to practice a lot to learn them. It's great for people who are not gamers - definitely not for gamers who want lots of strategy & fighting & in-depth plots or goals. Anybody can learn the games in the first sitting.
