This game scores points if you shoot a cop and even more if you grab in innocent person off the street and use them as a human shield.

Help Protect our Children and our Officers: Ban Eidos' "25 to Life"©
Our goal is 50,000 signatures.
We now have 72,909. We met our original goal of 17,500 in less than two weeks... and now we've surpassed 50,000! We're not done yet!
In response to a notice from game manufacturer Eidos, that the "25 to Life"© video game was being shipped to U.S. markets beginning January 17, the NLEOMF is mounting a vigorous campaign to discourage parents and caregivers from purchasing or allowing children access to the violent video game. We are gravely alarmed by the violent nature of this game and believe that any type of media that glorifies violence against law enforcement or civilians should be carefully scrutinized.
The "25 to Life"© video game allows players the option to role-play by shooting gang members and police officers and using innocent bystanders as human shields. The Web site advertising the game boasts that players have "more than 40 weapons to choose from, including shotguns, machine guns, stun guns and tear gas."
Due to the disturbing nature of the game, last fall high-profile law makers and citizens protested its release, which the NLEOMF believes helped to delay its entry into the U.S. market. Although the manufacturers have chosen to release the game this year, YOU can help limit its access to the young minds that this game will be promoted to.
The NLEOMF aims to collect 17,500 signatures, in support of a petition to take the game out of U.S. stores. This figure represents approximately the number of officers whose names are permanently inscribed on the Walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, and symbolizes the grave consequences of violent behavior toward officers.
Our culture is saturated with violent images in all types of media, but games like "25 to Life"© are especially dangerous because they're driven by the thrill of the kill. The images are wrong. The messages are wrong. And stocking it in U.S. stores is wrong. Do your part in keeping our children and our officers safe; sign the petition today.
Petition:
I support the ban of Eidos' "25 to Life©," believing that its violent nature represents a threat to our children and our law enforcement officers. I petition to have the game removed from the U.S. market.

25 to life is a GAME.........remember this, concerned people. games and reality are two completely different concepts. anybody...child or adult..that would dare emulate something from game-to-real world.....is already damaged-goods as far as the species is concerned. 25 To life is a MATURE rated game ie. adults only. what parents really need to be concerned about? the laziness of the individual retailers / merchants that might allow someone under 17 to buy a piece of entertainment with such harsh content.
as far as the actual game? what could have been a fun run n' gun....is hampered by ridiculous difficulty(on the 'hard' and 'omfg' settings)....a pointless 'jump' feature (glad it's there- but in no way does it help you evade bullets,or prove any tactical use, whatsoever)
this game features lousy.....everything.from the PSOne 'graphics',to the 5-6 canned 'homeboy' phrases the avatar can spout by one press-up on the D-pad(*Xbox version)
Possibly a fun rental, but an overall WEAK-assed effort of a game. this
'masterpiece' was delayed for so long, only to end up with THIS as the final
product?
P.S.. the online portion is stronger than the single-player....but you'll tire of
the control mechanics soon enough.
Are you kidding me??? Just a GAME?

No, this is not just a game. This "game" kills cops. Yes, it is supposed to be "just for adults". Kids still get these games. Plus, I don't care if it's kids or adults playing. Adults kill cops just like kids.
I am a proud wife of a police officer that I kiss goodbye every morning and hope he comes home at 5. Please remember before purchasing that everytime a police officer dies.. he/she was protecting you and he/she has a family that was left behind.
NEVER, NOPE, NADA,NO CAN DO!

I truly wish the manufacturers would think twice about creating games such as these. You wonder why violence is so bad, and there is so little respect for our Law Enforcement agencies, this type of games is ONE reason why. (You know it!) It puts thoughts in the already "troubled" minds.
Fun, but lots of problems

First off, I heard this game is being taken off shelves in some stores due to it's content. Well, I guess a game about criminals vs. law enforcement (COPS AND ROBBERS people) is so horrible that it should be taken off shelves while games like GTA remain where you can randomly walk anywhere, carjack anyone, kill anyone, and destroy anything....yeah that's much better for our youth. Now the TRUE problems with the game; the single player game is pretty lame. On Xbox Live it's about as fun as games get, but the problem is about 50% of the time people find a way to cheat and walk through walls and stupid stuff like that and it causes the game to crash (hence the 2 star overall). Way too many glitches.
Goes TOOOO FAR!

The gameplay is rubbish aswell but thats not the reason i`m here.
The game is more of a "Cop Killing" simualotor, which is un-necessory.
GTA maybe controversial but atleast you`re not MADE to kill cops, also those cop chases in Driver were actually fun and not disturbing-but this 25 to Life just takes the bar to far!
people forget that cops are actually normal people under that uniform, they may have famillies and are just paying for their bills and buying food for the family or something.
I do generally like EIDOS games but i think all copies of 25TL should be scrapped-the game is sloppy, controvesial.
overall i rate this game 1.3/10
Fun but way too short

This is a fun shooting game. It's one of may attempts to cash in on the popularity of the GTA games. It's not on the level of GTA, but it is a lot of fun and has a great music soundtrack. Unfortunitely the lenghth is what hurts the game. It's probably under 5 hours and you could probably finish it a couple days after renting it. Oh another thing, this is not a "cop killing game". You play as both cops and gangsters and some of the cops are as bad as the gangsters. This game does not in anyway glorify gang life. If you watch the ending of it, you'll get what I mean. Anyways it has an M-rating on it, which should be a good enough warning to parents.
Fun But, Still Just A Game 4 Adults!!!!

I'm not sure why people are Freaking out over this title (Trying to Boycott it) The bottom line it's not a Kids game it has a Mature Ratting on it for a reason
If anything with all the Media attetion it's gained it will move more units for Eiods
When you get down to it the game is a great idea that gets lost in the translation
It has a number of prob. (Eiods should have waited for the next Gen Console's to relase this on But, They didn't?
It is fun has some cool moments But, like other Review's have said it's too short
The sound track is Great one of the best Game sound tracks I've heard in a while.
When i was finished playing the game I did Not have any type of Violent ideas But, then again I'm 26
This game is Not for children read the Rating on these games
Everyone wants 2 attact Eidos and the gaming Industry for Adult Video Games But, here's the thing not ALL video games are for kids....... Question the Parents they should be aware of the content there kids are watching, reading, and listening to!
Or maybe we should just CENSORE Everything for the kids from Mature Video Games,Howard Stern,Rated R Films,Magazines,Books
or Maybe just the Local News?!?
I'd give the title and the content in it a 7/10
Does it have reply value -yes and no-
GTA..It is Not

Ok this game had a neat concept when i was browsing the shelves at my college rental store for games to pick up. I get home and pop it in and it's the worse GTA wannabe game I've ever played and I've played a lot. The idea of having to kill cops is..whatever. The game itself has terrible control and graphics are very choppy
The A.I. seems to have a brain when it wants to but things are definitely out of wack with this game. In the very beginning of playing I got shot in the foot and my character died.
