In and of it's self, I have no problem with requiring a connection if I were planning a purchase of it, yet I also preferr to play some games offline and w/o my silly firewall and all those problems asociated. That being said, the game is quite fun and the servers(today) are quick to respond for you to connect with a game session. You chose from 5 classes total(though I understand patches may have additonals) Reever(means demoraliser or "Soul taker"), Seeker(a kind of brutal barbarian type and a dwarf) probably ripped off Larry Niven's "Manzin "The Seeker" lion character(a brute from"Ringworld" books). Addionally you can play a strait-laced templar(paladin in most games), she has defense and holy offense(in a limited way) as well as physical prowes. And finally a Witch(I started out with The "Witch" for the quick offense-though not a beginnner's charater). You MUST have broadband to connect effectively and don't use "Kaspersky" it is notoriously stupid and has too many pop-up inquiries!(not a real game firewall anyway). Use Steelsecurity or "Watchdog". You can play as long as you like with little danger there.
