Lots of fun BUT you need super quick refexes and the learning curve is quite high...I would have been mad and put the game away forever if it wasnt for the fact you can watch how other people have done the operations on youtube!(just do a google search on the name of the chapter you tube is allways the first 2 or 3) not for people who get fed up quickly!

Good game that makes unique use of the Wii. As far as gameplay goes, it only has a couple of minor flaws:
- You can really screw up an operation and still get a C grade, and not kill the person. Use a laser randomly all over their innards, forget to disinfect things, use a scalpel on whatever you want, it doesn't matter. No matter what you do, you can't kill somebody. It's too idiot proof.
- The dialogue is like they went through a book and looked for random medical terms that make no sense at all when used in conjunction with each other (Better cut out that benign growth before it metastasizes and becomes malignant. Just don't forget to drain the cytoplasm first. Huh?)
- Between sections you have to watch the anime soap opera with the sickening plot that is supposed to support it. Just let me play the game. Please don't make me watch a poorly written dramady in order to do so.

This game is obviously not meant for anyone under 13. It is a cool game but difficult even for an adult.
Loads of fun, but there's a steep difficulty curve.

This is one of those excellent, fresh games that there needs to be more of. It uses a really good, fairly new concept, and executes it perfectly. This game does suffer from some insane difficulty, along with a few other quirks, and may not be for everyone.
The graphics aren't exactly stellar. It's essentially hand-drawn manga style art for everything but the surgery itself. During the actual surgeries the graphics are on par with a bad PS2 game graphically. All the menus and such are set up to look very clean and easy to navigate. I find the art to be appealing and pleasing to the eye, and the graphics could use a lot of work but still works, and that's what really matters for a game like this that centers around game-play so much.
The sound work is pretty average. The soundtrack is your typical fast paced, erratic Japanese game soundtrack, nothing stellar but it doesn't detract from the experience either. It speeds up during the more intense parts of the game, which is nice for building the tension/suspense. There isn't really any voice work other than a few quotes. They really could have made the story flow better if they had implemented full voice acting rather than just have you reading text.
The game-play is where this game excels. The Wii-mote and the concept of video game surgery were made for each other, it just works perfectly. The story is pretty dumb, but it keeps things going I guess. There is an insane amount of difficulty once you get to later parts of the game, so be ready for a challenge.
Overall it's an awesome game that deserves at least a rent if you own a Wii. It's really a lot of fun, and different from most other games out there. Just beware of the difficulty and you should be fine. Definitely worth a look.
This game ROCKS!!!!!!!

This is one of the best games I have played in a long time. I am a medical worker and it is close to home ... even with the cheesy settings and dialogue. It tests your skills and your memory and is just a blast! I recommend it to everyone!
Always wanted to be a Surgeon... without going to Med school.

This game is very fun but also very challenging. Any setting after easy is pretty tough to people other than hardcore gamers. I would recommend this game for anyone who wants to practice their hand-eye coordination with their hand-motor skills under pressure. (i.e. shakey hands) Only one player though.

This game is pretty much the board game "Operation" for Nintendo Wii with Japanese artwork and a strange plot line. Its decent and has some entertainment value.
One of the best Wii games

This game is fun, but it gets hard! I have the DS game, and this ones better because it has better sound, graphics, and controls. If you have a Wii, get this game no matter what!
great game, but a version for girls would be better

Both this game and Zelda are too male specific - the gender identifications are wrong for girls. I would like to see versions with female heroes for my nieces.
Strange, very strange...

We didn't buy this game, but rented it. I suggest doing that first before buying. It's very odd. The thing that bothered me the most was all of the talking that goes on. It's a bit tiresome. I guess it is a good use of the Wii features, but I wouldn't buy it.
