Really short and boring game.

I bought this game today thinking it would be awesome. Turns out, it's the worst Wii game I've played. It only took me about 4-5 hours to beat and it was boring the whole way through. I played through Red Steel, which was waaay more fun than this. If you want a first person shooter for the Wii, this isn't it.

Half a game, really...

Medal of Honor has been steadily going down hill since Frontline. This game is still fun with the wii remote, but it is way too short and probably not worth more than a rental. Go with Call of Duty 3 instead.

Too little for the $

If you can find this for $20, go for it. The graphic and gameplay are fun for that price. At $49.99, it's too short and too easy. I hope MOH Heroes 2 won't be so bad, but I'll be waiting for the first reviews to come in.

Mediocre game at best

I borrowed this game from a friend and basically beat it in two days. It wasn't much fun, all the objectives I think any one who has played Call of Duty 1,2, or 3 has done(or any ww2 game for that matter), and the multiplayer is very limited. The controls were fair but not like Metroid Prime and the graphics were ok at best. In short buy Medal of Honor heroes 2, you miss out on the ohhhhhh so fun air drops (not really) but it's the classic me vs. Nazi Germany kinda feel. Much better game.

Fun but a little easy

Basically you just run around Italy and France shooting Nazi's with your airborne sqaud. To progress further in the game you have to accomplish certain tasks such as clearing a building thats full of enemies. Setting up bombs etc. The AI is pretty predictable and the enemies shoot from their defensive positions and just wait for you to kill them. It would be nice if they took the offensive sometimes.

The Wii remote and Nunchuk are fully utilized for this game and it took me a few hours to get used it. To look around you use the Wii remote (pointed at the screen) and tilt it in the direction you want to see, there are crosshairs on the screen that help you aim your rifle. To walk you use the joystick on the nunchuk. To me now its almost as good as using a keyboard and mouse on a PC. You also use actions with the Nunchuk to reload your rifle (shake it to the right) and you swing back the Wii remote to launch a nade. So im pretty happy with the controls.

The graphics are pretty poor but thats to be expected for the Wii. Sometimes when the battle heats up i can notice some dropped frames. It seems that this game is pushing the Wii beyond its graphical limits. Another thing is that the game is really dark, i have to push the brightness on my TV up to near maximum so i can see what going on.

The sound quality is pretty good, it gives the game great atmosphere when planes are flying overhead being hit by cannons. A couple of times i thought there were planes flying over my house!

There is a split screen multiplayer function for four people but i have not tried it yet, everyone will need their own Wii remote and Nunchuk though. Internet multiplayer is non-existent and this is why ive only given this game 3 stars. I think it could be a killer game for the Wii if it had this function.

So its one of the better Wii games available at the moment and i enjoy it a lot. Please give Wii owners online multiplayer and it would be perfect!!

Does not hit like the first on my Playstation...

Ok well these medal of honor games are getting very old, same old FPS style. But the Wii has made it more frustrating I bought the Wii for the good ol fun games to play but this game is too dam sensitive with the remote...also very easy i died once in 4 whole campaigns its as if your life regenerates itself when you play the missions which is a big turn off....but you know shooting naisz is fun so i give this game a three

another one for the saga

I`ve been playing medal of honor games since the first one appeared on PS, this is just another one for the saga with wii motion controls obviously but I didn`t enjoy they game that much. Besides it`s a very short game but fun tho. Anyway if you want a WWII FPS game for the wii Call Of Duty 3 is a lot better.

Another day, another unsatisfying WWII game.

I never expected much from this game, WWII shooters have about been worn out. (Why we can`t have a WWI game, I don`t know, but that would be pretty cool)
Well, I rented this several days ago and started it up.
First, I was not overly impressed by the graphics, it looks much like European Assault on GCN.
Secondly, this game had a rough transition to Wii, the controls sometimes get glitchy and your gun points up at the sky, it takes about five to ten seconds for you to regain control, and the developers DEFINITLEY did not go overboard with the innovative Wii controls, the only "innovative" parts are thrusting the Wii `mote forward for a melee attack, and when you jump out of a C-47 you raise the nunchuck and remote up like your holding on to the straps to your parachute.
If you can find this game for $20 go fo it, but it`s not worth $30
Not many new weapons either.
The biggest problem is how short it is, I beat this game in a few hours.
Yet, the difficulty is incredibly easy (except for on the last two missions, which are incredibly hard)
The bad thing is, all missions are on foot, it would be nice to have had a BF1942 style game where you can do just about anything, take control of tanks, planes, ships, boats, turrets, bombers, jeeps ETC.
This game had SO much potential, but it never quite got tapped into it.

Fun but disapointingly average

"Medal of Honor Vanguard" is a perfect example of a sub-par game rushed to market in order to cash in on the unexpected success of the Nintendo Wii. It's another sad entry into the disappointing string of garbage making its way to the Wii from lazy and uninspired developers.

If I'm not mistaken, MOH:Vanguard is a "Wii-ified" version of big brother "Medal of Honor: Airborne" for PS3 and Xbox 360. What that essentially translates into-is uninspired graphics and tacked on motion control regardless of the fact that the Wii is capable of far better.

One of Vanguard's (and Airborne's) most talked about new features is that at the beginning of missions, players are now dropped from planes into hostile territories via parachute and that depending where a player maneuvers themselves to land-each battle can be a different experience each time you play. Well, I'm sure someone thought this idea looked good on paper but it really doesn't work here. Parachuting only happens a grand total of three times that I can remember in the whole game then its back to the same MOH business as usual you've already played a trillion times. And controlling the parachute itself-attempting to position yourself even remotely where you want to land-is a complete joke.

I've been a big fan of the MOH series since "Frontline" and felt that I needed to give this latest entry a try despite the universally bad reviews its received. Considering Vanguard's many flaws I still have to admit I was able to have a bit of fun with the game. It's very hard after several entries in the series plus the five hundred or so other WWII shooters out there not to walk away with a "been there done that" attitude and believe me, Vanguard does nothing to change that opinion. There's nothing whatsoever out of the ordinary here. But let's face it-even at their most elementary, these types of games are just plain fun and the Wii controller is so completely well suited to first person shooters I may never want to play with dual analog sticks again.

Though I still had fairly enjoyable time blasting my way through the somewhat brief battle, I absolutely cannot recommend MOH:Vanguard as a purchase. To pay $50 for this game is completely insane. You will kick yourself an hour or two after you've removed the shrink wrap-trust me. This is a rental only, or perhaps a bargain bin score three months from now. Nothing more. Oh, and one last thing to note-this game gets extremely difficult near the end. The last two levels border on maniacal frustration and the sniper section of the last level is the stuff shattered controllers are made of. MOH:Vanguard is a decent shooter all in all, but far below expectations for the once impressive MOH franchise.

A decent FPS for the Wii

I wanted to get a first person shooter to utilize the Wii's controller. Only after buying this game have I heard that this game is incredibly short, which is disappointing.

Upon beating the first level, I noticed that there were only 3 or 4 more levels to be unlocked, so I'm going to assume that other peoples complaints are valid.

Pros:
-VERY natural control system. Uses both the Wii's motion sensitive controller, and the few buttons on the wiimote to maxim effectiveness.
-Fun Multiplayer, plenty of different options to frag with your friends
-Appropriate difficulty. Not too hard, not too easy, just about right.

Cons:
-No online or Co-Op capabilities. EA could have made this game a real quality game with the simple addition of online play
-TOO DARK! If you're slightly in the shade, you become completely black. Not very realistic here people.
-Limited graphics (its the wii, come on now, what do you expect?)
-Apparently too short, although I haven't finished the game yet myself.
