this game is so much fun. the nonstop violence is pretty sweet and it never gets old. there is always something you can do whether is leveling up your guy, guns, extorting businesses and rackets doing the missions and the favors and the hit contracts. there is just so much to do. and the story is really long
Action lovers: This game is for you!

First off, I'm very picky about what games I buy for the Wii. So far I've only bought 5 games for the Wii and didn't like 3 of them. Zelda: Twilight Princess was my first game, loved it. I also bought Elebits, Wii Play, and Sonic and the Secret Rings. Didn't like them for various reasons and got rid of them. I gave The Godfather a shot, and I'm glad I did.
It is genuinely fun to play. The controls are great. For those of you wondering, it is essentially a Grand Theft Auto clone. You can steal vehicles, drive around New York. You have various guns and bombs. There are families (gangs) around New York that control different parts of the city. Part of your missions include taking control of stores and rackets from other families. The stores and rackets pay protection money to your family earning you money. There's also a story line to follow that stays true to the movie. There are various side missions too.
The only bad things about this game so far are the normal troubles with any game. The story is a little hard to follow (I haven't watched the movie yet), I had a little confusion as to how to actually play the game (such as needing to bribe the police to stay clean), and the button mapping took some time to get used to.
Here's the bottom line: If you've been looking for a good Wii game after Zelda and haven't found it, this is your game. This is the first time I've played The Godfather and it is definitely worth the price.

I was in a video game rental store looking at the lame games that are out so far for the wii, and decided to give this one a try. I am so glad I did, I ended up buying it. This game plays like Grand Theft Auto, but with a better storyline and, of course, wii controls. The controls put you physically in the game, as you can grab and lift people up, throw them against walls or off of buildings, punch or strangle them by making the motions with your hands instead of the usual butto pressing.
This game also has a non-linear storyline, with multiple missions available at a time. You can also choose what kind of mobster you want to be, mostly violent or better at manipulatin, etc, and each decision has benefits and consequences in the game. This game is very fun, and very addictive.
While mostly a port the controls are generally spot on

The game was loads of fun and the mature action of this game wasn't diluted at all in the Wii version. It even includes extras like the hit missions. I only wish it didn't seem so short, though that might have been because I was having so much fun playing it. The Wii controls are generally spot on and gives a very satisfying experience when using guns or even better when going hand to hand.
Very Fun and plenty of game play...very violent, not for kids

This game is great, its very detailed, allowing you to travel to each of the five burrows of New York and deal with the five families. You can do your own thing or play the movie. Its got a lot of hours of gameplay but it is very violent. You use the wii remotes to strangle gangsters and can kill people in many different ways.
awesome!

This is an addictive game that makes good use of the Wii controls. It is a little violent, so beware. After 20 hours of playing, I am not tired of it. I am about to put up the computer and try to help Monk take down a snitch!

The graphics are outstanding as is the soundscore. However, I found it too slow paced, repetitive, and absolutely too violent for my taste.

I have played the PS2 version of this game and I enjoyed it enough to want to play it again on the Wii. To my pleasant surprise, there is so much added into this version of the game. I was very excited to continue to play this game. There is one or two missions that I can't seem to beat but else, its a great game.
