The X-Squad is a challeging game but fun to play. The one problem I found with the game is that running is difficult. This game is a keeper if you like Resident Evil 2.

This game has good graphics.....Yeah. That's about it. It's decent if you enjoy blowing things away for no real reason, but otherwise, it is naught but a mediocre title. It would have been a lot better if it had been in 1st person, like Goldeneye for the old Nintendo 64. The way that the views are set up do nothing to promote a fun experience. The plot also adds no redeeming qualities. There was something mentioned about a Medusa virus, and there was a Doctor Noble in there somewhere, but I had a hard time piecing together these plot fragments. Another thing was the controls. They just don't work. There are several different control settings, and while some are awkward, others are downright impossible to master. Button configurations clash with each other, and this does not help when you're in the middle of a fierce firefight. Like I said, the graphics are real nice, and if you want something that looks cool, this is the game to buy. Otherwise, whip out the ol' Nin 64 and just play some Bond.

I have played about 19 p2 games so far and I must say this is the best game I have played so far, and the best I have heard about or seen. The graphics are great and the gameplay is great. It is easy to get edicted..... all in all this is a great game... If you like these kind of games you'll love this game! 5 stars all the way!

Unexpectedly fun and enjoyable -- more than a few days

Having lived in Japan for about the first year of Ps2's release, I've played a lot of the new games. My theory is, the first wave of games (I'll consider Metal Gear Solid the next gen) are pretty much good for one kind of thing. It's either massive battle attck (like Sangoku Musoo -- Dynasty Warriors), cool swordplay/swashbuckling zombie killing action (like in Onimusha -- Warlords), or Robot simulation like in Gundam. I rate of the above games with a 4 stars. "X Squad" (or "Cross Fire" as it is called in Japan) is actually pretty good -- I didn't buy it until I could get used. That is a good price to pay for this highly engaging shoot-em-up game. Think of Metal Gear Solid, minus the stealth imperative, for its action and feel as you try to take out the army of bad guys. As the Amazon editor said, it isn't a perfect game. But, I've already spent more than 3-4 days playing it, always trying to go back and improve my skills on the lower levels.

Considering that most experienced gamers can probably beat Warlords (prob. what is so far the most beautiful, rich game out there), this game is nice in that you don't feel the need to speed through levels. Taking out the bad guys with teamwork and carefully placed shots is really fun. I agree with the AMZN editor -- you definitely can't count on your buddies to win the game for you, but steadily improving them is challenging and part of the game's appeal.

Like I said,... you'd be a fool not to pick up this game. Anyhow, a lot of fun. Pick it up and share it with a friend.

X squad is really fun at first, kind of like a metal gear solid tipe of game, but it gets a little confusing and starts to not make sence. After that there are some parts that are a little fun like sneaking past gaurds, but it is preety boring. It took me a month to find out how to save, and after you get far and then just die, its not one of those games you want to play again.This game could of been a lot better. The strenghts are you can command your partner what to do and its fun to sneak past gaurds and soldiers. the weaknesses are its boring watching the movies and walking through a hall for 10 minuets. X sqaud also hard how to find out how to save. This is a game you should definitly rent first, if your store doesnt have ps2 games to rent, wait to the price is lower, then if you really want to, you should buy it.

The kind of games that I like usually include a role-playing game, or sports games, or games with a goal to accomplish. This game had a few of those components that I like, it had a role-playing element as you play the head a 5-person team that is sent into different missions to accomplish certain tasks. This was a very cool, I rented this and may at some time in the near future purchase this game. This was a cool game if you like the rpg style or games with a mission or goal to accomplish, you might like this one. Check it out, rent it first, though.

I Have played some of this game It is Graphically beautiful and It has a decent story line I Played the import so it was in Japanese but I kinda got what was going on so Dont go soley by what I say But I reccommend This.

I think x squad is a cool game it is prety easy but the six level is the coolest. The guns are really cool ,I would recommend this to a ten year old boy.
