Let me start by saying that in all of my reviews of video games, I don't concern myself with graphics, sound, and story as much as some do. What matters to me the most is game play and whether the game is fun or frustrating. This game is a very good game and a lot of fun to play, which just happens to have outstanding graphics, sound, and an interesting story.

Voyager Elite Force is a FPS based on the Star Trek:Voyager universe featuring the voice talents of all the cast members of the TV show (except for Kes). As a member of Voyager's "hazard team" you will embark on several missions on Voyager and various alien ships including a Borg cube. You will encounter a variety of aliens and alien weapons, but the game is not just a shooter, it involves some thoughtful puzzle solving. The game has varying degrees of difficulty so that you can adjust the game play to your skill level. One of the big pluses for this game is the "save at any point" feature that allows you to move the game along and not have to replay some of the longer, more tedious segments.

The game has a few negative points. For one thing, it's pretty easy to run out ammunition and you find yourself often second guessing what weapon to use. When fighting alongside team members, they often get in your way more than they help. The most annoying thing however, were the long cutscenes. Also some portions of the Voyager based missions are frankly pretty boring and seem to be there just to take up time. And the load times are horrendous.

However, even with these annoyances, this is still a good solid game. Voyager fans will love it, but I think anyone who enjoys FPS's will have a great time with the game. This title has become my favorite game for the PS 2.

Not bad.

My brother-in-law got me this game last weekend. I had been on sort of a binge with mature-rated games, but I welcomely accepted the gift, being an avid Star Trek watcher.

In comparison to another first-person shooter I own, Red Faction, Elite Force just barely doesn't measure up in the graphics department. It is also a little more difficult. But because of its starkly different plot, this game offers many innovative aspects.

For example, usually after an away mission, you will be called upon to assist in repairs aboard Voyager. In the two cases I have encountered, so far, you are presented with the opportunity to save a crewmember or sacrifice him for your own safety. Between away missions, you can also test out new firepower on the holodeck, which offers a simulated western shootout. Even more refreshing aspects reserved for Star Trek Voyager await, but you will have to find out for yourself.

I also like the idea of the Infinity Modulator, an energy weapon developed by Seven of Nine that rapidly changes its frequency so that the Borg cannot adapt to it and defend themselves. In addition, all of the aspects of the Borg from the show are seamlessly transplanted into this game. They ignore you until you attack, the green energy nodes can be destroyed, rendering all nearby Borg helpless, and they will adapt to all energy weapons after a few shots, except for the Infinity Modulator.

All in all, I am satisfied with the game. First-person shooters generally have a high replay value as well as many, many levels to complete. I think I enjoyed Red Faction just a little more and, of course, you always hit the occasional snag where you've searched everything and still can't figure out how to move on in a level. However, it's original, intriguing, and fun.

An overall good game.

In this game you play as a special forces team leader on a star ship trapped 70 years from home. its based on the tv show "star trek voyeger" and includes the real actors doing the voices for the characters. more than 10 weapons(which is actually enough believe it or not) and 5 worlds, with each world having about 10 stages makes this a game that you cant just beat in a couple days. this game is filled with somewhat simple uzzles and challenging battles. the very last boss dissapointed me though, there was no trick to beating him, just dont stop moving and keep shooting him with photon blasts. the controls are very slick but your auto target only works when you almost have them in your sights, and makes it very difficult to just hit stuff, which can be very frustrating. the graphics are pretty descent but in this kind of game you dont really need perfect CG. on the pc version you can play multy player against the computer or online. now you can only play against your friends in 2-4 player mode with no computer characters. its still a blast, it never really gets old with a ton of multiplayer levels which are huge, tons of characters you can choose, powerups, armor, weapons and more, it is definetly worth buying.

My first and probably one of the best star trek games

This was a fantastic game. The graphics and the story line our great. You start off as second in command of the hazard eam, but believe me, that wont last for long. You start off in a holodeck simulation fighting off some borg. Next, the ship is tranported to some sort of graveyard of ships. You get to walk around the ship interact with the crew. You go the etherian ship, a standard away mission. You go to a ship called the scavengers, and when you get deep into the malon section and almost into the irogen, dont bother jumping into the pipe, i spent a long time on it and i never got in, there is a much easier way around. After a little surprise from the borg, you beam back to the ship, get a pep talk from Tuvok, and off you go to a borg ship, fight some borg, get to shoot a couple of 8472, you get back wit h an upsetting loss. Then, the harvesters are coming to attack you, they do that when you get to the graveyard. Then you go to a gunship, hint , look to the left for little things to jump on as soon as you get in, you'll need them to get to the top level. You fight some scavengers, then the weapon systems are malfunctioning so you cant destroy the harvester ship from there. Guess, what you have to take you own little team to fix them, use your torperdo lanucher, it works well. That's how far I am. It's an excellent game, if you like first person shooting combined with an interesting storyline, buy this game.

A truly awesome game.

I just bought this game about a week ago and when I first put it in I was amazed at the graphics! I mean talk about detail!! But if your looking for a long game levels wise this probably isn't the game for you. I'm not a very experienced game player but I've already beat the whole game in about a week.

Finally, a Star Trek first person shooter for PS2!

This game is great! So many missions, so many settings, so many weapons! It has decent replay value. It's also great that they included the voices of the Voyager cast.

Great first-person shooting game

If you liked Quake III or other first-person shooting games or are a fan of the Star Trek universe, then you should get this game. It doesn't have the best graphics but it uses the Quake III engine. The character voices are like the ones on the show and the weapons each have two shooting modes. It is a fun game that has a good storyline.

Best Game Ever

This game was the best game ever I couldn't step away from it. It is a game/story that takes you from the Voyager ship to battling borg, klingon, malon, species 8472, and the deadly/new creatures The Forsoth.
Here is the game summrey.
You are Alexander Munro (or Alexandria Munro depending on if you are a man or a woman) and you have to try to rescue your teamates from a borg ship it is up to you and you alone. You find out after that you are just in a holdeck program. As you walk out there is a call from captain Jain Way informing you that Voyager is under attack by a mystieres ship that dose not respond to hails.Torpeatoes are releast from Voyager and the enemy ship explodes. But when it exploded it created a magnetic fealed that transports you and Voyager into a parralell dimension were danger lurks right around the corner. It seems that every thing is going wrong at once. The ship has almost no power and it is up to you and the rest of a group called "The Hazord Team" to save Voyager...
