I got this game awhile back and let me tell you, I have been playing it ever since. They have added lots of controls to the game including being able to off-load passes to another player when not fully down in a tackle, shimmies (or jukes), hand-offs, dummy-passes, and a whole bunch more. You're also able to use the illegal high-tackle to try and force a injury or turn over. If you're worried about not knowing anything about Rugby, don't worry. I started playing this game not really knowing anything about Rugby but they have a very cool training section in their game which can teach you what you need to know. Here's a list of some of the International teams in the game and their overralls:
New Zealand (95)
South Africa (93)
England (My favorite, 90)
Austrailia (89)
Russia (40)
Spain (40)
USA (47)
Ireland (86)
Scotland (74)
Figi (?)
Wales (88)
France (?)
Italy (?)
Argentina (80)
Canada (60)
Those are just some of the teams you'll see. The overalls I've given you are from memory and may not be correct. Nambia and Tonga may also be in the game, but I'm not sure. This game gets 5 stars, so please buy!!! I hope my review helps!
Sincerely, RedHawk48. GO COWBOYS! GO DESPERADOS! GO WHITE SOX!

The first Rugby game I bought was Jonah Lomu rugby on PS1 and that was one of the best games I had ever played. The second Rugby game I bought (quite a few years later) was Rugby 05. I played this for about a week and got very bored with it.
A friend of mine who is a huge fan of rugby 06 lent it to me on xbox and my life has never been the same.
I wasn't expecting much as I was still disapointed with 05 but I thought I would give it a go. As a New Zealander, I had to play my first game as The All Blacks and it was amazing. The players are extremely lifelike and the 'star' players are rightly chosen. The rucks and mauls are breathtaking, even if you lose them! The added features of set plays, although tricky at first, are very useful in the game. Fending, shoulder charging and sidestepping are also very useful, especially if you're running up the wing with no support and the opposition fullback is heading right towards you.
Being able to play the six nations, tri nations and other huge tournaments is also very cool. The six nations is probably my favourite and playing with Ireland, I can really do some damage.
For those who are new to rugby, the training section is very helpful, although hearing Grant Fox's voice all the time can get a bit annoying.
Over all it is a flawless game with unlimited playing potential. After reading this review, I highly recomend ordering it

Very enjoyable game and vast improvement over previous versions. Just wish they would add a few more teams and a sim mode.

I like rugby 06 alot. the offloding and the new moves are really good. But
the players with the stars is what spoils it, because they make it completely unrealistic. For example: Tana Umanga breakes 8 tackles, no player can do that. Well I hope this revieuw helped
