This game is fun? Excuse me? I must have played a different game. We are talking about the portal runner that was on the PS Underground demo disc among others? ... This game is garbage, quite bluntly.... The control is some of the worst I've ever experienced, it is slow and unrepsonsive to the utmost degree. The voice acting is some of the worst I've ever heard. The level design is terrible on the demo, which I whole-heartidly assume it is for the rest of the game as well. Why would developer release a demo of a game that wasnt indictive to the final quality? Exactly. Trust me. Any educated gamer who knows their Marios from their Solid Snakes will instantly realize this game is not even worth renting. Among the PS2's best games? I would say among the worst PS2 games, out thus far.. Everything about this game is a pale clone of other games, with little to no originality or inspiration. This game is simply not fun, take my word, or better yet, play the demo for yourself. Do not rent this game, I expect nothing but absolute mediocrity from this title. I'm sorry to put down a game this badly, but it really does deserve it in my opinion. Save your hard-earned money for a game that is worth it. Metal Gear Solid 2 is right around the corner..among others. So, to summarize this lengthy review.. Do not buy this game!

i would just like to say how horrible this game is...... and that u should not spend a penny on it...... and also i feel bad for the developers cause they know its so bad that they have to shamlessly plug it calling it "the best platformer ever"(look at the two posts below,the post below this post).........needless to say this game sucks!!!

(...) This game is corny, dumb, terrible and a disgrace to PS2. Quit buying it. It has a few pleasent scenery, but the controls are bad, the camera is bad, you control a (...), with a lion named Leo. Big whoop. Buy Metal Gear Solid 2 or Gran Turismo 3 or Devil May Cry or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. Portal Runner? More like Portal Limper.

well, its a boring game. i played it only once at my 8 year old cousin's house( im 11),but hey, u may like it. The graphics are good, and levels are fun to explore, but the mission modes are mad boring ! I DIDNT GET THE MISSION MODES AT ALL, i played it for like 3 min. anyway, if ur bored w/ a friend, explore levels in this game. its pretty cheap and it gives u something to do on a rainy day.

I enjoyed playing this game, the only draw back is the the controls!! I got so frustrated trying to get the character to move left, right etc. Whoever thought up these controls for this game sure did a BooBoo!! It's not like most games I have played where you move the joy stick and the character moves up or down, left to right, NO you basically have to stop her then turn her left to right, up, down, these controls are LOUSY. The story line is fantastic and it has beautiful scenery. Once you get the hang of moving her around its not bad. Good Luck.

If you're looking for a game that offers you non-stop heart pounding intense action, Portal Runner is not for you. On the other hand, if you're looking for a game that mixes action, adventure and some puzzle solving, then I would highly recommend this game.

I was plesantly surprised by this game's ability to keep me entertained. I guess it's partly because the levels are varied and interesting, plus there's the 4 different modes of play (as Vikki, Vikki with Leo, as Leo and Vikki riding Leo) that kept the game fresh. As for why this game did nto get 5 stars from me: sound effects. For the most part, the sound effects are below average. I felt like the same sounds were being used over and over again. It's really too bad cuz after seeing this game featured on so many covers, you'd think this was a 5 star game.

I played a demo of Portal Runner in a video game magazine and I plan to buy it.The graphics are ok,sound is ok,controls are ok but gameplay is suprisingly good.You can use your bow like a scope and zoom in for targeting.Jumping is ok but sometimes awkward.Moving around is good.Music is decent but will get on your nerves.Graphics are ok but I have seen better on the PS1.Some platforms and areas just suddenly appear out of thin air.This is my favorite army men game ever made.The story,videos and some other things are ok but great gameplay make up for it.This game deserves to be mentioned as one of the top PS2 games.

portral runner is one EASY game because i finished it in 2 days. i liked using vikki better than leo because leo is slow and his only attack is slashing. vikki is better because she's faster. i'm not trying to say this is a worthless game but i finished it in so little time. the song that plays at the beginning is okay and so are vikki's differnt arrows. i think portral runner2 should come out.

This is a great game,its fun,and it really makes you think.
Its not hard,but its not easy. Its really fun a little frustrating at times (like when you have to fight the dragon) .
The graphics are great and its just full fantasy.
The great thing about it is that it doesnt have violence in it you just have to shoot arrow.
The bad thing is that if you are a great player you can finish it in one day,its long but not that long.
Make sure you have the memory-card when you buy this cause you dont whant to get far in the game without saving the game.

If you like platformer games, this is a fun one, and not too difficult. The graphics are very good and the controls are simple. I like that it's got different stages you go through, first as just the girl, then with the lion, then riding the lion. There are some puzzles to figure out and hidden things to hunt for if you want to, which makes the game last longer, but is not a requirement for continuing. The only annoying, nay, downright aggrevating thing, is that you can only save one game. So my daughter and I have to share it instead of playing each our own game. Bad move on someone's part.
