Monopoly party is a great game. It's a great 4 player family game and it's fun for kids. You can chose different worlds and characters and even houses! I think the best way to play it is with a family with 4 people. I also think this game is wonderful. My little sister loves this and likes it a bit more than the board game because of the characters. She loves being funny characters and by pressing R2 on the control doing a little move. Overall i love this game!

"Monopoly Party" is a fun game. Some might think since it's a classic old-fashioned board game that it probably wouldn't be good as a video game, but it actually is. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the original Monopoly. It's easy to grasp how everything works and how to play. It's also a lot more convenient.

Monopoly on PS2 is very enjoyable. It's fun to play alone with three other computer players or with your buddies. Playing with the computer is a CRACK UP! as it attempts to swindle you into agreeing to the most absurd trade proposals. Its quite easy to use because it mostly consists of only pressing X. Although its not exactly like the board game, its tons of fun without having to choose which one of your trustworthy friends should be the "banker". Oh, and there's no clean up afterwards. I highly recommend this game just remember to keep an open mind.

They almost got it right.

What's with the interface? I've been playing Monopoly on consoles since the 8-bit Sega Master System, and this is by far the worst UI I've seen yet in a Monopoly game.

It's nigh impossible to peruse the game board in a normal way, the interface for displaying who owns what properties is absolutely ludicrous, and it seems like this game was put together by people who don't play Monopoly, but who viewed building the system as a series of problems that they developed disparate modules to overcome.

Once you get used to it, which takes an un-necessarily long time, it's Monopoly, a game you know and love, and it's playable. But come on, put some thought and effort into it and make it usable.

We've been trapped in a proposed trade screen with a computer AI opponent for over 15 minutes at times, trying to figure out how to back out of it, since there isn't a simple "cancel trade" button that you can hit without modifying the trade properly, and it just gets needlessly confusing.

Good try, but not quite there, which is sad since this has been done correctly SO many times in the past.

This is a fun game if you like to sit back and just push a button instead of having to actually roll the dice and move your token like on the real board game. You can play by your self with the computer or play with up to 4 players. There are 4 themes for the game board and tokens you can pick like the classic and sci- fi and prehistoric. It can go on for hours of fun or can get boring if no trading or building goes on.

I like it

You may enjoy this game if you are like me and like to sit back and have a none complex game that happens at your own pace and can be as involving as you want it to be. Okay, so it's not super snazzy or high tec, but the different themes you can play makes it kind of fun. I enjoy sitting back once everyone has gone to bed, bring out the chocolates, light some candles, and play! I have played this in party mode too and that was fun but you might have to share control pads.

More fun with up to 4 Players!

Each player rolls together and moves at the same time, so with four players everyone is buying, trading and building all at once. Your friends can "cut you a deal" or make you bankrupt. Includes classic game board and four theme boards with theme tokens. One player can compete against computer players.

I love monopoly and the party mode is sweet

This attempt to give Monopoly fans an entertaining experience in a PS2 console is an absolute failure. The graphics are sub-standard (you must have a 50+inch TV in order to read the titles), the gameplay is simple and not very interactive (just press X to roll, press X to buy, and you will be pressing X for a long time with no real interaction with the game. The animations are dull (when the hat moves you have to wait a longgg time before it arrives to its final square...obviously, you could turn the animations off, but that would just make the game even sleepier...)
If you were waiting for a Monopoly game such as the ones made for PCs, this is not the case. Maybe you should wait for another PS2 version of this great game.
