The best rhythm game

Last year I saw this game at E3 from a distance, and the moment I saw it out of the corner of my eye, I was hooked. Visually the game is very well made. After putting on the headphones and giving this game a test, I was completely awestruck by the quality of the music. Being a fan mostly of beatmania on the playstation and also almost every rhythm game that's come out, I'd give my rating some credibility when I say that: I've passed up the whole line of great games that's come out on the system just waiting for frequency to come out to buy a ps2.
Best PS2 Game

I think this is the best game you can get for the PS2. It has great gameplay, and an awesome soundtrack.
Even if you don't like some of the songs (I'm not a big fan of heavy metal), having to play the tracks that make up the song give you an appreciation for the song's architecture.
This game isn't for everyone, however. I would recommend you rent it and give it a shot before you actually buy it, because I've shown it to some people and they just couldn't land the notes in time with the music.
This game also learns like a musical instrument: you'll find that you just can't get the notes right for a song so you'll shut the game down for a day or two, come back, and find that you're able to deal with it thanks to the practice you've put in.
So addicting and Fun, in a strange way...

This game is unbelievably addicting. If you like music, and if you have played tetris, this is the game for you. Who thought pressing three buttons over and over could be so fun? In frequency, you choose a song that they have on 5 different stages, and instrument by instrument, you add the notes to the song, and when you get through the whole song, you have the finished symphony. This is a great game, and definately recommended.

I first played this game on a friend's demo disc and I was immediately hooked. This game is awesome; plain and simple. The best songs consist of Powerman 5000, Ethan Evans, Tony Trippi, and the Symbion Project. The music in this game isn''t the type of music I listen to, but it is very fun getting to play all of these rythms on the controller. The down point of the game is that the diffuculty really shoots up within the last few songs, making it seem almost impossible to open up the level 5 bonus songs. But as soon as I completed the game i felt accomplished, like i had beaten something that truly takes skill. This game is a must buy for those who have patience. Especially since it is marked at a low price.

I have to come out an say it. This is the most addicting music video game ever made. I got the demo, and was just enthralled with it. I couldnt put it down. I bought the full version days later for 20$ at kb. It was the last copy an they wanted to rid of it. Play online for more fun. A must buy for anyone who likes a hip beat.
A highly enjoyable gaming experience

I've never been a fan of rhythm type games but I checked this one out because I liked the music that came with it. It took about one hour for me to get used to the gameplay and objectives but since then I've been hooked.
Graphics- The psychedelic background actually can get in the way of the gameplay because you get so distracted by it. Fortunately, there is a track without all the colorful shapes and images.
Gameplay- There are three difficulty settings. Most people should not have any trouble with easy settings. It may take couple of hours to get the hang of normal setting. I have yet to start on expert mode. The challenge is to get the high score and unlock a new song for each round.
Sound- Great. Most of the time, you're so focused on collecting the jewels that you won't realize what instrument you're on but everything sounds great.
Quite a trippy game

Do you like club / techno music? Frequency is an interesting music-based game allowing you to blast through techno remix songs from many different popular artists. The visuals in this game are pretty trippy, offering an entertaining experience while you blast through levels of music. It's nice to know that people are still coming up with innovative new gameplay styles. (The gameplay itself feels quite different from, say, Umjammer Lammy.) The only thing I really found negative about this game was the lack of sophisticated remixing of the songs after you 'own' them. That's perhaps something that can't be overcome in a game designed for a console, but it's definitely something I would look for in the future -- can't wait to see Frequency 2!

I only own the demo of the game, giving me only about 15 mins. of play time, but each time I play I come up with various ways to make the music slower or faster. I am a very musical person and Frequecy has ranked very high on my want (wish) list. It doesn't involove anything but rhythem, even if you don't have rhythem, the game is still a blast. I own a couple playstation 2 games, and this one is something I plan on going out and buying very soon. I think that everyone should own this game (experience) if you have a PS2. It is well worth the time spent in front of your TV and well worth the sell price. Sony has done it for me again, they will probably never stop amazing me with their games, equipment, and other electrical do dads. Frequency: A 'trip' through a musical machine. Buy it today, I will!

Boy,you have to get it or at least try it.The heck with Vista's Magnet program! This is better than a magnet program! It's all about the music. This game has 6 soncs to it that you can play or make a remix. But there may be more since I only have a demo. The beginning is good with the chanlengers and the Dj's.So far theirs 5 artists besides the beginning one. There's Funster De Lunge,DJ Qbert,Jungle Brothers, and Fear Factor. All the songs are of different types like rock, future type, and many others.Overall this is the best of the best music game and if you learned something from it then you might become a great and far out DJ or artist. It's a cool game and if you ever are in band you can learn about the instrutments faster.I hope this will make you want to get the game.
-Why not buy this!-

This game is really fun as you start to understand what it's about. The sound features songs from many different well known artists and when you get really good at it you can amaze all of your friends. The game gets aggrevating at times but believe me all the time you spend playing it will pay off. You can also remix any song that you've beaten and make is sound better than it was before. Buy this game if you have good hand eye coordination and finger dexterity.
