~Ecco The Dolphin~

Ecco the Dolphin is a GREAT game, but it can be VERY hard. But as you get into the game the story line get very intristing. Just to tell you, the game is possible without a game shark. i haven't beat the game with out the game shark but i'm over half-way done with it. Ok, you need a good "eye" because, if you don't you may miss something that can help you beat the level and the levels can take you over an hour just to beat it. And the good thing is if you get a special power and you die, you keep the power you have gotten!! And this is VERY helpful if your on a hard level. And the graphics are ammasing, and the music gets more intense if you are in boss battle or some other level.

Today May 9, 2003 i just beat the game without the help of a game shark. I'm not lieing (i don't like to lie anyway). This game is possibly. Here are some tips that may be helpful:
1.) turn the brightness on you TV (if you can)
2.)press the L3 button to see were your next objective.
3.)look around the area you may see something you may have not seen before.
4.) TRY NOT TO PLAY THIS GAME IF YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD!

original game play and concept

This game is very original, with absolutely gorgeous, some times even surreal environments. The graphics are for sure the best I've yet seen on a PS2 game. The game environments are very interesting, and the music is usually pretty good (though the intro song is kinda cheesy). The game play is pretty good, mixing action with puzzle. However this game is very difficult (even more than either of the Sega Genesis Ecco games), and some parts take a lot of patience. It could have really benefited from having different levels of difficulty. Also the controls do take time to get used to (though certainly they aren't terrible), and it can sometimes be quite difficult to find your way around in this game, I sometimes find myself becoming a bit disoriented in it.
If you are looking for a very challenging, action/adventure puzzle game, with a pretty well done story, and awesome graphics you will probably love this game.

ok, i dont know what is up with those people that keep dissing this game. this game is amazing. it is really challenging and provides HOURS of gameplay. this is what most video games should be like! i hate a lot of games on PS2 (sports, wrestling, army (ICK))

Graphics: 10/10. they are beautiful. the animals look real. (the sharks are scary!!!)

Story: 9/10 Ecco has to save the dolphin AND human race! GO ECCO! (at one point he goes back in time!!!)

Controls: 8/10 a little bit tough at sometimes but not that bad overall.

Difficulty: 14/10!!! this game is very very hard! some of the levels are dark and you cant see stuff good so make sure you search everywhere in the levels! (it helps if you turn your tv's brightness up)

sadly, i dont have a game shark, or a game guide so im pretty much stuck. ive only made it halfway through the game and i got the game when it came out. rent it first, if u love it, BUY IT, cuz it will take a long time to beat it!

All of the Dolphins are in danger from destuction and know one can save them except Ecco. Based on the Sega Genisis game guide Ecco through a wonderful game full of fun and excitement for the whole family.

The 2nd time i saw this game i got it for ...
This is the funest but one of the hardest games i played.
I will spend at least 1-2 hours on some levels but not all. Once i got fimiller with a level i some how beat that level.
i got up to the level "Sleeping Forces of Doom" without a gameshark. I havent beat evey level in the the game game but i have beaten alot of levels. I think you should rent before buying because the game is so hard. No matter how hard a Ecco the dolphin game is i will always be a Ecco fan.

I am a big role playing fan...that is why I turned in my XBOX for a playstation 2. I just went out and bought Ecco the Dolphin cause I loved it for dreamcast. The controls are a lot better and the graphics are great. So far the only thing I have found wrong with the game is that everytime a shark bites me I jump. Recommend this game for anyone who likes a difficult game.

I only rented this game but I plan to buy it. I love dolphins and I'm even writing a paper on them for school. Ecco is completely realistic. I heard the designers used National Geographic to make it look real. Although I wouldn't suggest playing this game for long periods of time because the camera moves fast and it gave me a headache, so I paused the game every once in awhile and take a break.

Ecco is a cute little dolphin who is destended to save the entire world. Okay a little dolphin the whole world. Don't see a connection? Well you will if you get this totally hot game.(the game is not tempeture hot)

OK, I'll get straight to the point. This could've been a great game. It's not bad, but still. Here's the reviews:
The Good:
1.Awesome graphics
2.The dolphins, turtles, sharks, ect. look real!
3.You can jump out of water and do flips and stuff.

The bad:
1.Horrible controls
2.You have air suppily underwater. Yeah, dolphins do really have air suppily, but let me ask you something. Do gorillas? Not Donkey Kong. Get rid of the air suppily.
3.The levels are like mazes.
4.If you get hit by an enemy once (say by a shark), it takes away more than a fourth of your health.
The bonuses:

The bottom line:Rent, don't get.
