Ok, this is the most fun game I have ever played!

Alot of people complained because the game wasn't an actual karaoke game and you didn't get to sing, but WHO CARES? the puzzle-like style to the game instead of singing is still fun!

The Competition Mode was pretty easy I'll admit, and I beat it on EASY the first try, but it's alot of fun trying new songs and new clothes...I definately recommend trying all levels of Difficulty, I'm on the HARD level now.

As for glitches...there are some, such as time delays between singing, cheering, the judges comments, etc. and some of the transitions get annoying...BUT...it does not take anything away from the game and you will eventually just get used to it!
The singing is good, the graphics are decent, the sound is nice, and the game is just awesome!

The game is ALOT of fun! GREAT game for an American Idol fan!
I hope they make a 2nd version!

I am very disappointed in this game. I was expecting this game to be similar to Karaoke Revolution, but it does NOT even compare to it. The box on this game is misleading, it says, "Sing along to 40 top hits," and that's sing along as in look at the lyrics on the screen and sing them without the vocals playing in the background. American Idol judged people on their singing ability, but this game judges you on your ability to press the right buttons at the right time. Don't waste your money on this game if you are looking for a good karaoke game.

This is a great game. There are so many different ways to play. You can play one player and go through all the stages of the game, you can play with multiple players and each of you go through all the stages of the game, or you can play with multiple players just against each other. You can also do rehersals and karaoke. You can pick your clothes and hair styles, and for each round, there is a list of songs you can choose from. You have to hit certain arrrows at certain times when you play. How well you do with the arrows, determines how well your character sings, and how well you do in the game. Paula, Randy, and Simon are the judges, and the voices of them in the game are their actual voices in real life. It is very fun, and with a lot of practice, you can win easily.

This game leads you to believe you can do "karoke" with it. However, your "voice" is controller operated. I guess you would have to be an "american idol" follower to appreciate this game. We bought it because my daughter loved karaoke revolution and the dance mat games. We're trading it in...

American Idol could be the worst game of the year, just by the looks of it.. Look at how bad it is. The grapics are horrible. They are some of the worst graphics ever seen on Playstation 2. I saw some screen shots. There are many Dreamcast games that look better than this. I bet its boring too. I heard it took only ONE hour to beat. ONE hour. ONE HOUR!!! $50 for one hour! Are you people insane? Spending $50 for one hour of gameplay, probably with no replay value either. The show may be horrible, but I have a feeling this may be worse.

I can't believe that a video game based on a show where people sing isn't centered around a mic and players singing. If I wanted to test my eye hand coordination, I'd play a real video game.

I bought this trash for my kids after having Karaoke Revolution for a couple of months. They played it for five minutes and decided they'd had enough. What a waste of money.

If you want a game that judges you on your ability to SING, (you know like the real American Idol) get Karoake Revolution.

I think this game is fantastic - it is a must for any American Idol fan, but I have loads of friends who don't watch the show who are hooked too!! :)

It's great fun for you to play by yourself or in a group of people and Simon is just as scary in the game as on the show (although he's been quite nice to me!!)

dat would be kool if you could karoke to songs like hey ya and i love the way you move and b.o.b. and crazy in love and all of those good songs. This game is not karoke though i was mis guided. dont buy it i was sad when i learned i couldent buy a mic for it. codemasters u make horrid games 4 ps2!!!

I've read the negative reviews but my 8 year old son bought this game used and has enjoyed it a lot. It's one of his favorites. It's a great kids game. As a parent I recommend it!

If you are an American Idol fan then this game is probably gonna be okay for you. But if you want a GREAT karaoke game this isn't the game for you. The game play isn't all that great, the list of songs is lacking and the voice-overs for the songs are even worst. For a great karaoke game look for Karaoke Revolution 1 & 2, both games are great!
