Are you looking for a game that is awesome fun for video-game-on-the-brain friends as well as for a visiting relative that's never heard of Playstation? Well, Puzzle Fighter may be just what you've been searching for.
A cross between Tetris and traditional fighting games, Puzzle Fighter is simple to learn. You can easily play without having to memorize a gazillion special moves and secret codes. In one one-minute lesson from someone sitting on the floor in front of the television you can learn enough about the game to challenge an expert, and perhaps win!
But wait! Expert gamers shouldn't shy away from this one -- set yourself to a higher level and you'll even find that even grandma can be a challenging opponent. The fast pace will keep you hopping and your palms sweating.
Puzzle Fighter is a great game to play alone or with a house full of guests -- someone always want's to challenge the winner! Watch out though, Puzzle Fighter can be addicting!

This game is so adicting and fun! Once you learn to play (which is so easy), you're hooked for as long as the CD will spin. I learned to play in less than 15 minutes on Thanksgiving night. Each time you play you learn a better strategy! You haven't experience Playstation until you've fiddled with this game!

Easy to learn and difficult to master, this game is best played head-to-head. It's standard Tetris gameplay -- colored blocks fall from the top, settling towards the bottom, and you and your opponent have to stack them to try to get the same-colored blocks stacked next to each other. Because periodically, glittering gems fall down from the top... and when a gem lands on a block, that block and all other blocks of that color that touch it are destroyed. If your stack reaches the top of the screen, the game's over.
But here's the head-to-head trick that makes it fun; for every block of yours that's shattered, a rain of blocks falls on your opponent. Burst one or two blocks, maybe one or two fall on your nemesis. But if you can break twenty or thirty blocks in one shot, then a hail of blocks will fall on your opponent, burying him and probably ending the game.
So it presents wealths of strategy: Do you try and break up a bunch of tiny blocks, hoping that a continual minor assault will overwhelm him eventually? Or do you spend your game not touching anything, trying to get the big forty-block payoff, all the while hoping your opponent doesn't drop a bunch of blocks over your elaborately-created setup? I've had a lot of occasions where everyone just played Super Puzzle Fighter all evening.
Quite possibly the best of the Tetris clones, this one is easy to pick up but offers an incredible array of strategy for expert players. WAY recommended.

I think this game is really the best Capcom game every made so far. It gets really addictive. It is very easy to learn but as another said difficult to master. You always need to figure out new strategies once someone figures out how to use your drop pattern against you. I suggest this game to anyway who is really bored and needs something to keep them on their toes. This is also a great game to play against friends. I reall suggest this game, get it today!

Puzzle fighter is by far the best puzzle game for the playstation. For 1-2 players (preferably 2), this game is very quick paced. The only downfall is that the handicap is not very strong, and experts will easily defeat novices on any handicap. A must have, even if you don't like puzzle games!

This fun game is a cross between Tetris/Bust a Move and Street Fighter. Anyone who is into puzzle/coordination games like Bust a Move will be hooked on this game. The characters are cute and fight in the middle of the screen as you build power gems and crash them. I used to love playing this game alone for hours, especially winning the prizes in Street Fighter mode, but once I started playing against friends, I can no longer play alone. You and your opponent attack each other as you break the gems. This game is easy to learn, even for the not-so-coordinated, very competitive, and extremely addicting. I've had it for 2 months and find no need to get another game.

Playing this game is actually not so different from a regular RPG game--you get stronger and smarter until the end when you are super good in this game. When I first started playing I was a real novice but after having a win/lose ratio of 1/20 for a month I became an expert. The game is fun because you have to keep playing to get "prizes" to enhance the little functions of the game. After having become a master, however, I started to lose interest in this game. The only downfall of this game is that it doesn't make you want to keep playing.

Every girl I have showed this game to (no I didn't show it to my mom, or yours) has without exception been fascinated by it and thoroughly enjoyed playing it. Need I say more?
If you can get this game, IT IS WORTH IT.

Due to the rarity of SPFII, I decided to write this to contribute more "I WANT THIS GAME NOW!" fanaticism.
This game is a very interesting single player challenge, even though the first two levels of easy mode are way too simple. Once the difficulty steps up, so does the skill of which you face off against. Even after you beat Hard mode, there is still one more level of difficulty to beat, which you must get going through the Puzzle mode. After you've thoroughly exhausted yourself with that, then the real fun begins. Invite friends over and challenge them. Within minutes, the entire house will be rocking. This game ranks as one of my top 10 video games ever played, and will continue to be in that ranking. BELIEVE THE HYPE!
