Street Fighter EX2 plus is light-years ahead than the first game. The characters may have looked great and are a lot less blocky than the first game, it cannot even begin to compare to Capcom's 2D street fighters. While the backgrounds are still in 2D, this time around though, they are much better disguised as 3D than in the first game. Although Capcom hides it, this is a 2D game with 3D characters, which sometimes makes characters in the game seem like it floating when they're in midair. There is a slight delay on when you input your move in the controller and when the move comes out on the screen. You can probably look past this with most of the characters but after the nth time trying to pull off Akuma's Raging Demon, it gets a little frustrating. Still this is a very good game and if you're a big fan of the genre and haven't played a Street Fighter game in a while, which is unlikely, this is a must buy.
Where's Akuma?

Street Fighter EX 2 is an okay game. The graphics are far superior to those of the first however it's not quite as good gameplay wise. First off the developers of the game created characters with weapons. Now any Die Hard Street Fighter fan knows that weapons take away from the whole aspect of Street Fighter. You've got a guy with a sword, a girl with a mechanical missle arm thingy, and another girl with a gun and rifle. I just felt these characters took away from the whole aspect of street fighter. Second, what happened to Akuma? Akuma is by far the greatest character to ever grace Street Fighter (next to Guile of course)! Akuma is now replaced by Kairi who is similar to Akuma in that he can teleport like akuma, has Akuma's Shun Goku Shatsu (Raging Demon)and many similar moves. He's not like Akuma in that his ground fireball isn't even half as effective as Akuma's, he lacks any type of air fireball, he doesn't combo as good as Akuma and let's face it, he's just not as cool as Akuma is. Other than that, the combo system for this game is just as good as the first game. The excel move is a nice touch but not as effective as the regular super combo's are. All in all it's a fun game to play but if you've already played the first EX game, you're not really missing much.
The best Street Fighter since Turbo

Let me first get this off my chest: Street Fighter has always been and will always be a 2D-game. The EX series is no exception. Just because a game has 3D-graphics doesn't make it a 3D game. Paradoxically, Street Fighter EX (2) is even better than any of its "2D" installments, eg the Alpha series: it is crisper, clearer, has cooler characters (Hokuto, Jack, Skullo, Pullum, Garuda) and the possibility to chain super combos! By the way, it's nonsense that characters with weapons would spoil Street Fighter: other characters have long range moves too - Sagat's super Tiger shot is just as fast as a speeding bullet, and besides, firing the gun costs two separate super combo bars, one to load and one to fire - and Vega has had a claw ever since the very first Street Fighter (II) and nobody ever complains about that. It's true that EX 2 isn't as big an improvement over EX 1 as that game was over "2D" Street Fighter, but having said that - it IS an improvement, making it one of the greatest games in the world today.
Should be called Bland fighter II

What can I say? Two years after the release of the original EX, I was expecting some major improvements, but what is this? Firstly, the game runs slower than the original, resulting in sluggish gameplay. The loading times are also unacceptable, (about three times longer than the original) and the music just isnt of the usual Capcom quality. The game itself features the usual crew, joined by some tedious newcomers. Apart from some new frames of animation, the game is slow, basic an bland. If you love Street Fighter, like me, get Alpha 3 instead.
And I love street fighter :(

For a street fighter game this is very disapointing. No where near as good as the original.
I don't know what everyone was talking about niether because the graphics ain't better then the original.
This one has no endings. No Sakura. Chun Li has been toned down a bit. Vega's Claws look like flat pieces of metal.
It is a good game if you can get through alot of what is missing and missing from the original.. but I give it thumbs down. Its lucky it gets 3 stars.
Best feature: make your own films

I'm keeping this short and sweet: SF EX2 Plus is not the best Street Fighter game out there, but it has several pros and cons:
PROS:
* With the Director feature, you can make your own movies. Most of the standard characters are there: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Sagat, Dhalsim, Zangief, Vega, and Bison.
* Barrel Mode is where you choose a fighter to destroy as many barrels as possible. Control is difficult, but the fun is still there. I got my best score (200,000 plus) with Chun-Li.
* Bison has NO 70% damage moves. He's still deadly any how.
* Chun-Li kicks enemy but with her Spinning Bird Kick and Guile's moves are much easier to execute.
CONS:
* NO Sakura, Akuma, Cammy, or Dan
* Ryu's and Ken's hurricane kicks are a bit harder to execute
* You'll need some patience on loading times
* Only Chun-Li and Dhalsim has taunts, and can be difficult to execute; which that and other gestures should have been added to Director Mode
No as good a Turbo

I think the major flaw with this game is that there is no story. This does make things kind of bland. I remember the original Street Fighter II being a world tournament with people flying around the globe. It was thin, but it was something. This is an okay game, but there's just no excitement somehow.
I thought the effects were terrible until I got a new TV, and then the colors came out better. I do like the training mode, where you have to do certain attacks. They start out with some basic stuff, and then progress to things that you would never do in a fight, but isn't easy to do either. And loading time is painful. Even for playstation. Do note however, that it loads alot faster if you run this on a PS2.
Good but could had been better

When I bought it I was sure about three things, that this new sequel to EX Plus Alpha would have better graphic, cooler attacks and brand new characters.Well, all of these were true but still this game doesn't compare to the original.First of all the Arcade mode is cheap and the bonus games are boring. You'll fight only 5 characters(Garuda,Sagat and Bison not included). As some reviewer said before me,it's just a fighting game without a storyline which makes it good only to spend a good time. Some of the good but few things are that you'll have the chance of getting hidden characters just as the first game and you can do multiple combos in a fight even though they are harder to execute. Some of the new but good fighters from EX Plus Alpha are missing or were substituted by new characters that looks just like them. The most notable is Blame Dame who was substituted by Sharon and both uses almost the same fighting techniques. This game in step of being a continuation is more like a repetition of EX Alpha. Some characters still do their job like Pullum and C.Jack but others lost their bright specially classic fighters like Chun-Li and Vega. All I got to say is that if you liked the first you'll enjoy this one otherwise you'll get bored easily after the first time you play it.
OKAY AVERAGE.

it is fairly good just they should of added akuma, cammy, dan, sodom, birdie and the rest of alpha characters. the only complaint is that the arcade mode is cheap you only get to fight a handfull of people with 2 boring bonus stages. and finally when you defeated bison there is no endings. but the graphics are great the new characters they added i like some of them such as area, sharon, pullum, hey come on i'm a guy i will only like the girls. great game a must buy!
