This is Twisted Metal meets Star Wars!! Thats right die hard fans, play as over 10 different Star Wars Universe characters.... Even the "Man" himself, Boba Fett. Four different 1 player games to choose from. Several in 2 player mode. Different power ups and all in the name of "Raking in the Cash". If you fail... well Jaba the Hutt is likely to have something nasty instore for you! I recomend this game highly to Star Wars fans.
This Game could have been better!!

Lucas Arts is great at providing the atmosphere of the Star Wars movies in all of their games, and Star Wars Demolition is no exception. Unfortunately, atmosphere doesn't sell games, gameplay does, and Star Wars Demolotion is lacking badly in that department.
Graphically, this game is quite similar to Vigilante 8, with the exception that the levels that you can compete on are on Tatooine, the Death Star II, Hoth, Etc Etc. There are many vehicles to choose from including the Land Speeder, Snow Speeder, Boba Fett's Jet Pack, an AT AT and a few others.
The atmosphere is great, the opening credits are cool, there is plenty for the Star Wars fan to love. However the problem here is that this game is unusally hard. After playing Battle mode for 3 consecutive hours, I lost every battle I fought but one. Some characters you fight against seem more mobile and harder to kill than others. This would be ok, but it often seems like you are being teamed up on by mulitple enemies at once. The limitations of the vehicles makes it impossible to overcome the fights where you are outnumbered. This makes victory impossible for a single player.
Where some players might find this game favorable would be in the two player mode, where you can fight against each other on the different terrains, with any of the various vehichles. This portion of the game is pretty cool.
Overall the graphics are adequate, although there is lots of popup. The music caters to the Star Wars atmosphere and is good. The gameplay suffers from a high level of difficulty.
As a diehard Star Wars fan, I can not recommend this game. Rent this one first if you feel like you must own it.
Finally, the One to bring balance to the Force...

...at least on the Playstation, that is. It's about time we get a good Star Wars game on this system. It may not be a masterpiece, but it's certainly good enough to restore just a LITTLE faith in LucasArts.
I'll start with some of the negatives that have been brought up: 1) There is no reverse button. Really, once you get good at the game, you don't need a reverse button, but I still think it would be good to have one just the same. 2) The graphics, while excellent for the most part, can also make some things very hard to see, especially thermal detonators on the ground and smaller vehicles (Aurra Sing, Darth Maul, Leia, and especially Boba Fett). 3) Worst of all, this game has a bad habit of freezing up during loading screens, more often than any other that I've ever played.
Now, after considering those things, I kept at it, and I find that this game is actually really fun. Some have complained that it's too hard, but that's just something to be remedied by practice and strategy. After awhile, I found myself feeling that it was too easy.
The other complaint is that the storyline is not consistent with Star Wars, but come on. Even the games that were supposed to be directly based on the movies did not follow the movie scripts to the letter! If they did, there really would not be much of a game. Besides, the Star Wars Universe has plenty of openings for alternate storylines. Just look at all the novels, fanfics, and RPGs out there.
I also like the music in this game, being remixes of the original Star Wars songs. They really manage to keep a good pace and tempo to suit all the action in the game.
I will admit, too, that at first I did not like the control scheme. I don't like having to use those L & R buttons so much. However, when you get down to it, there is really no other way that the controls in this game could have been set up without being horribly awkward. This is not really a design flaw of the game, it's a limitation of the Playstation controller. I also think it would have been a good idea for some of these vehicles to have the ability to pitch forward and back (that is, move up and down) instead of just left and right. It's unrealistic without this: a snowspeeder should handle like a jet, not a sports car.
Other than these minor gripes though, I actually had a lot of fun with this game. It's certainly not perfect, but it's much more enjoyable than other PSX Star Wars games.
FAR FAR AWAY IN A GALAXY BLOWN TO BITS!!

"Star Wars: Demolition" certainly blazes no new ground in the gaming or Star Wars universes, but it sure is a lot of fun to play. One has to appreciate the absurdity of the premise and the locales of battle. Basically, Jabba has decreed that a number of members of the Star Wars Universe battle it out in a gladiator-like tournament for the right to not be killed. This leads to some very bizarre matches and even stranger combatants. Anyone (or thing) from Boba Fett to an AT-ST to a rancor can be used as a combatant. The battle grids take place in such disparate locations as Tatooine, Naboo, Dagobah, and THE DEATH STAR(!), to name a few. The gameplay, itself, is not the smoothest, but it is still a very fun play. Try it on full tournament mode, and after using various different combatants to win, hidden combatants can be unlocked. It's quite fun and has a high replay value. It is certainly as entertaining as any number of fighting games out there. Try it out.
Great game~Could be better.

The Single player of this game is a bit repetitive, all modes focus on the same techniques and strategies: i.e. Destroy all other vehicles, with no difference other then level area. Although using the different characters offer a bit more diversity, but I found myself a little bored after beating the entire tournament format in a matter of a couple days. In total there are 10 characters until you totaly beat the tournament and you unlock a few more.
The saving grace to the game is the multi-player, as it is in most games of this genre: vehicular combat. The Star Wars setting makes it all the more enjoyable.
Instead of buying, rent first, you may be dissapointed. Star Wars fans apply, a good game, but could be better.

Demoltion is a really cool game. I reccommend it to Star Wars fans. The point of the game is to destroy your opponent. You get to play as Rancor,Boba Fett, Aurra Sing, Snowspeeder,Landspeeder,STAP Fighter, Desert Skiff, Podracer, AT-ST, And Battle tank. To unlock all of these charcters, PLUS secret characters, go to options, go to preferences, and press L1 and R1.Then you can start playing with all the characters. NOTE:You have to do this process evry time you turn The PS system on.
Good Game for Star Wars fans

Do you seek action in your boring life?? This game is awesome. if you can't complete it go to cheatcc.com or cheatplant.com for some of the wildest cheats for this game yet.
Be Darth maul on a speader bike. Be another guy in a speeder. Take your pick you can even be Jango Fett. i am a star wars lover and this game is very very cool. Go around blasting the computer to bits on many different planets from the star wars saga. Including Naboo, The Death Star, even Yoda's home on Dagobah. (Star Wars fans bear with me for my spelling i know how to say in but not how to spell) Play a mission in an attemp to unlock other players. if my memory serves me correctly on the first planet u fight 1 compter controlled opponent. 2 planet 2, and so on until the 4. it ,the mission, is all random exept the person u play as. Get power ups and special weapons such as a missle launcher, a beam, photons, and even a thermal detenator all with infinite ammo with or without cheats. the catch keeping ur force up to use it. all around each planet you can recharge ur health and force even without cheats. makeing the ending for u and the computer even farther away. this is an awesome game that every Star Wars fan will love and make other non-Star Wars fans, fans.
