Reviewing Legion

Nothing new here for folks that ever played Centurion of Rome. The graphics are better, and the campaigns more in depth. Command and control of armies is limited at best, which is supposed to more realistic. Had this gone farther and included some later scenarios this would be worth the price. Buffs of ancient Rome will enjoy this probably, but consider carefully before commiting your computer gaming dollars.

excellent gameplay, nice graphics. However, the only problem is that it only has campaign missions and no "random map" scenarios.

Legion Stuff...........

Feature List, Enhancements, and Questions?

Enhancement for future could include an ability to Paint models.

Enhancement Editor scenario/campaign/unit or just like you said do free downloads from the web for support. Nice value adds.

I like the New graphics engine sprites skinny.... looks better than fat..... Nice amount of blood and gore and some body parts. Remember this was a very violent time. Future chance of some fire smoke fog or dust?

I like to pan the field after the battle and look at the carnage and destruction. You start to feel for the sprite.

What will be the resolution?
800/600 16bit.... Graphics look good....

Nice 3d/2d/isometric style with no need to rotate.
I like the idea of commanding and then watching.
Legion may use some imited ability in the battle to do things.

Nice scope and feel to Legion.

I can see by playing this game the vision and passion that whent into the product.Great job.

Nice scale. Just let machines with power be able to scale.

Style,style,style Legion has style.

Legion has a simplicity and elegance to it with complex underlines. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.

Just a little more gore and blood and destruction on
the field of battle.

Being able to play any side will be great....20 plus wow....

Let some of the files be tweak able files for the di hard net kids.

Increase the volume and number of battle sounds and scale to power if able to.

First time in history I liked the music.

Immersion,immersion,immersion Legion has immersion.

I love the 4 scenario structure and the large to massive maps. Great idea to have random battle locations.

Difficulty levels 1-5?

I like the idea of creating a single player game with great AI. This is hard to do and shows your teams talent.

Multi play could work in a legion battle game only.

No multiplayer good. Do this later.

Nice manual and web support.

Quality,quality,quality Legion has quality

Just a little more varied sound and music?

I love the opening cut scene.

Possible open source in the future? Look what happened with Doom and Quake.

Nice marketing and hype.

Legion is a very good game so go out and buy it.

Think Legion II , Legion Books, Legion Calendars,
Legion Posters, Legion Toys, Legion Board game, Legion Movie. Think Big Dreams. Think Legion.

No one has done a Roman game the correct way and Legion is a gem.

Enough, now back to Legion.

I love this game.

Curtlegion.

I have not bought the game yet, but I've played it....And its great! It gives a real sense of Roman leadership. Taking your army, and kickin the crud out of the enemy makes you feel all warm and cuddly inside. For the size of the sprites, you would be amazed by how much they bleed. The blood and gore gives it a nice touch, definently not for the faint hearted. So this game is most definently a "T" game. But the battles are so REAL.Like, if your Auxilary Archers are to close to an enemy, they drop their bows and whip out a sword, which trust me don't force them to do. You give your troops a plan, and they carry it out. But you can't command them on the feild. There are so many Units, as well. Theres cavalry, Praetorians, gladiators, spearmen, legions and much more! My friend says you can play as different sides but I have not tried that yet. Overall, Legion is a beautiful and wonderful, game and should be experienced by all teen strategy fans.

Definitely not worth what I payed. Very, very disappointing. It was fun, until I figured out what formation was unbeatable.

Legion is a flawed game, but it is old and you can buy a copy for $7. The city growth is oddly limited, so no city can build every type of building offered. Why is this? I could not tell you. The Real Rome had every type of building the Romans could build; and all Roman cities were just a copy of Rome. It is worth $7, not $8, but $7 is a good price for this game. Wyatt Kaldenebrg

Poorly made. Much better strategy games out on the market. A let down after playing Europa II and Medieval Total War

Buy this Game!

Reviewer "dantalian" said it all: The game is playable, replayable, graphically well done, and, most importantly, FUN! Out of the box the thing ran without a burp. The manual is actually useful (unlike so many other new games) and provides a tantalyzing tutorial that will make you want to dive into this game full time.

Buy this game. It's all about power...you know you love it!

You'd have more fun driving nails into your foot

Alright, this game has graphics that look like they were inherited from Civilization 2. There's nothing to complain about in reference to the strategy portion of the game, since it's pretty standard, but the real time portion will make you lose the will to live. You deploy your soldiers and then helplessly watch as they run around the map and fight the enemy. Yes, I'm not kidding, you actually can't control the army in battle, it's reduced to you sitting there watching little soldier A throw things at little soldier B until one of them dies or runs away. The idea that you can't make real time changes during a battle is rather absurd, and as a result of the game design there's no strategy, you might as well wander off and do something interesting while the battles are running. This game hurts brain.

This game had soooooo much potential... it is always sad to see a game that should have been so good, turn out so poorly.

They really skimped on this game, and my advice is to save your money...
