dissapointing user interface after previous NFS games

High stakes suffers from the same problem as V-Rally 1: the game controls are insufficiently custimizable. You are given a choice between both steering and accelerate/brake on the left stick or steering on the left and binary acceleration. What were they thinking? PlayStation's great advantage for driving games is dual analog sticks. NFS3 utilized this feature as did GT, GT2 and VRally 2. For this reason alone, NFS 3 is a far more playable game. You won't get the traditional supercars in GT2, but either GT game or NFS 3 is a much better choice.

I first got Need for Speed: High Stakes when I was six months old, and hated it already. So I ate the CD and it tasted bad.
This game does not play on my PS3

I bought this game the other week and found it would not play on my PS3. I bought it because I used to play it at my friends house back in the day. Before I ordered it, I looked it up on Sony's website and they stated the game had no problems. Anyway, if anyone out there is playing this on a PS3 comment back

This game is definetly a winner... I bought it when it came out last year and have not gotten bored playing it since... The graphics freezing up are sometimes a bother. you might be trying to get around a spike strip and the graphics freeze and you can't tell where you are going, and either hit it or crash. However, this problem rarely happens. This game has good racing modes, although I wished there was some more detail to some of them. It also has a good collection of cars, though not exquisite. The graphics are ok, but could be better, and the slower loading times are annoying. Overall, it rocks the racing/driving line of Playstation games.
need for speed is best game.

this game is best for everyone. this game is so brilliant that i can't tell u. u buy cd from gamez.com & play. then u will know. high stakes challenge is simply superb.

This is nothing shy of a excellent game to play. I think this is one of the best racing games to play and being able to be a cop is the best, and if your the type of person that likes to have codes for your games, this one has an excellent selection of cheats codes but you'll have to find out where to get them, unless you have a game shark then your in like flynn.

This game is pretty cool, pulling over speeders and running away from the cops. It is definatly worth the price!
