This game utterly amazing, though I have not touched it in about 7 months. I've been meaning to put it back in my PS2. The battles and menus are very neatly organized within the game. Much of this game is standard but there are a few things that separate this game from the rest of games out there.
The first thing is customization and aquisition of Wanzers. You can easily put together Wanzers as easily as putting together legos; or you could keep it the way you aquired it. There are benefits in putting a certain arm or leg on a Wanzer, which will enable you to obtain more battle skills... which come in so handy in tough fights.
The acquisition of Wanzers is such an amazing experience. The way to really obtain new cutting-edge Wanzers (as opposed to buying them which is more limiting) is stealing 'em from you enemies. And there are plenty of fun ways of doing so. My favorite is in battle, while having an "Eject Punch" battle skill equipped, pull your Wanzer right up to the enemy and use a fist attack. With some luck, the pilot will be ejected. Then, you can eject from your Wanzer into his now vacant one, or attack him on the ground, in which case he WILL get mauled. This is great fun because he won't jump in yours after you are in his Wanzer.
Getting and trading new weapons is also lots of fun. A plethera (sp?) of customization available (if you want it... you choose). :)

Man, this is the game that everyone needs! This game is it! This game has awesome graphics, storyline, weapons, and mecha. It has two senerios that can get anyones attention. The machine's body parts have skills that you can learn that can be very helpful throughout the game (It reminds me of Gundam Wing). It has weapons like shotguns, machine guns, flamethrowers, Missles, Beam weapons, and more. The movies look REAL and the gameplay is just cool (to me). It's a strategy/RPG/role playing game. You can get upgrades and new weapons along the way, including new mecha. Overall it's a good game. I give it 5 stars.

This is an extremely entertaining and fun tactical turned based RPG. The graphics are great, the story is in depth, the style is different than a lot of games in its genre, and you never get bored of it. Pick it up if you like games such as the Shining Force series, Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, or the like. Highly recommended!
If you like turn based strategy, this game is for you!

This title is the first World release of the great Front Mission series of games from Square before it's Square-Enix merger.
If you enjoyed Final Fantasy Tactics, this is the next best thing in the genre of turn based sci-fi strategy from Square during the Playstation's reign.
Why Aren't There More Games Like This

I'm about halfway through, meaning I've spent about 20 hrs so far, and I really must hand it to Square, this is a great game. The cinematic battles, the mech upgrades, and having money in the game, really make this challenging and fun. Any game that gives you the freedom to spend money and configure things is on the right track in my book.
My only criticism would be that they are trying to be an RPG. Oh, and this isn't an RPG in my book. They have some RPG trappings around, all around, in fact, all over the dang place. There's a lot of talking heads talknig, and sometimes that seems to eat up your time when really, all I want to do is check the shop for new upgrades and then get out to mech killing.
I with Agetec would make something like Armored Core Tactics or something. There should be more turn based combat games that aren't in a fantasy setting.

I biught this game for my boyfriend, he enjoyed it very much. The game came within a few days and we are happy with the quality eventhough it was used. The only complaint is I can't get my boyfriend off of it! ha ha!
