I own this game, and it is not worth the time and effort. the story leaves a lot to be desired. there were better games for the genesis, super nintendo than this game. After playing it for 30 minutes, i packed it up and walked away. you will be truly dissappointed by this
Utterly awful

Lots and LOTS of random battles, dumb characters, dumb gameplay, graphics that would look bad on the SNES (except for the constant battles). I played this when there were no other RPGs on the Playstation and I had the flu. With so many great RPGs out now, there is no reason for this game. Actually, there was no reason for it in the first place. I'm an RPG nut, but this one is just plain bad.
My opinion on this game.

When I got this game I thought it would be really cool, but I was wrong. Here are things that are bad in this game. First of all the music isn't that great and it can get really annoying to listen to, especially the battle music. Second the battle system stinks because at the beginning of the game you start out with 11 hit points! In most other RPGs you start out with over 100. Also some items in the game are too expensive to buy because you don't get very much gold from battles. Basically this game is the worst RPG, so don't buy it.

I bought the game. I started playing into it. When i go on a journey to this tower monster battles happen more and more often.
In the tower they happen so often by the time you have figured out what direction your facing after a battle your already in another battle. A battle about every 2 squares(easy battles too. but time consuming) is enough to drive anyone batty. Because of of the frequency of battles in some spots(way more then any other rpg game ive played.) this game become worthless. The only rpg game that i have that i haven't finished and do not intend to finish.
Im sure the programmers intended to pad the hours playing with frequent battles but they just manage to turn the game into a worthless "paper weight"
It will make u apreciate good video games

ooooooooookay. This Video game is not only the worst RPG but the worst video game ever me and Jimmy Stillson agree and we dont agree on much. Okay I want you to buy this video game so u will apreciate good video games like Xenogears and Saga Frontier. God even Tonka Space staions better than this. I bought it at a store ya see I kinda wondered why it was so cheap. You get in a battle so often you never leave one spot. But do buy it you could never Imgane how bad it is untill you played it. If u like Woodywood Pecker racing you just might like this and you just might be a bad video game lover too. Peace
Probably the PS1's worst RPG

I was given this game by a friend who didn't want it anymore. Now I see why he was so quick to just give it away. This game is the worst of all RPG's. Weak story, repetitive gameplay, bad music, and graphics that make me wonder whether this is a Playstation game or a GameBoy Color game. Stay away from this at all costs. You'll see it selling for about $2.99 at some ebgames stores. The price is that low for a reason.

The plot is very thinly developed. It plays out as if someone stole a copy of the first stage of brainstorming for a Final Fantasy game--i.e. very weak and underdeveloped. It might have had some merit if the developers had simply scratched below the surface of the storyline and given it some depth. Although it does feature some hidden optional characters, the time between save points can be frustrating.
Fun, but not Amazing

This game was really fun to play, and the story line was decent, but overall it was far from the best I've ever played. At the time this game came out, it was pretty good because there wasn't much of a selection for Playstation RPGs. But by now, there are much better games out there.
The story line is based on the usual "Young boy goes off on an advneture to save the world." Most of it has been done before. The magic is pretty good. Most of the spells are fairly original, and the graphics that go along with them aren't too bad considering the cartoon appearence of the rest of the game.
I remember being a little annoyed by the excessive random encounters in some of the dungeons, but it's nothing I haven't dealt with before. One dungeon that stands out in my mind however comes near the end of the game, and it was by far the most nervewrackingly annoying dungeon I have ever encountered in ANY RPG (and I've played them all!). There are invisible pit traps all throughout the already long dungeon, which drop you down to the previous floor somewhere, which also has pits... Combined with the high random encounter rate, this place is an absolute pain to complete.
Most of the game is straightforward, with only a few elements of surprise. This is the kind of game I'd recommend only to a first-time RPG player. All of us RPG veterans should look elsewhere.
Its Ok.

This games is not as bad as everyone says it is. I will admit I have not played it all the way through, but I have played worse RPGs. The graphics are not great, and the storyline is a little dry and the characters dont really develop. Yes, this game lacks, but its not down right awful. Although with the release of the PS2 and all the new RPGs hitting the market, you can easily find a RPG that would be much more fun!
eh....what can you say

Well, I've been playing RPGs for quite some time now.(Since all the Dragon Warrior games on NES) This was an RPG, but that's all that really stands out about it. haha. Hardly any replay value, linear storyline, easy to solve puzzles, no character development(hardly any at all), and OLD graphics. This had to be like the first RPG they made for PS. The graphics bring back memories though. haha. I enjoyed it overall but wouldn't bother to play it over again.
