I DID NOT RECEIVE IT WHEN I ORDERED IT AND I WAS BILLED FOR IT

What a waste.....

I bought this game with high expectations. I love a good shoot 'em up, but most of these kinds of games take themselves so seriously. So this one had such promise. I especially looked forward to melting the enemy with the flamethrower (and being melted a time or two myself...).

But this game quickly grew extremely frustrating. To start with, the graphics were flat, with no depth perception at all. It's very tough to see enemies off on the horizon, and even tougher to be sure what/where you're aiming. The controls are next to impossible to use. After what I thought was a more than reasonable several hours of play, by which time I've usually got the 'feel' of a game down, I was still cursing at the screen and tossing the controller down. Moving is a challenge - it seemed like I was always tumbling into a minefield or into the path of machine gun fire that I knew, from experience, was coming, but I *still* couldn't get the game to let me move where I wanted to.

I eventually finished (never let a machine beat you.....), but grudgingly, and by the end I couldn't believe that so many sequels to this thing have come out. I certainly won't be buying any of them.

Nowhere near my expectations

Army Men 3D is just no good. It's fun at first, but the graphics are nowhere near the Playstation's ability, the multiplayer is boring, and the controls are bad. This game needed more polishing. Steer clear, but if you've got an N64, Sarge's Heroes is great.

Major let-down

The concept is great -- what can be more fun than your childhood toy soldiers killing with flamethrowers, gernades, mortars, and tanks? Exactly, one would imagine that this is a great game. However, this isn't so. First off, the graphics are terrible. You can hardly make out the tan blobs to be soldiers. Second, the game is VERY short -- there are only fifteen short levels. Lastly, the player hardly ever get to use a tank or a jeep. The only reason I still play this game is when I'm playing against a friend. This game isn't worth paying more that $25 for it.

NOT THE BEST GAME

This game could be a lot better. For one, the game play is terible. You can barly control the guy. And something else that bothers me is that you can't aim with the guns. When you finaly do hit the guy you have no amo left. I have had this game for a while and it is my least favorite. I've seen better games from 3DO. Trust me, DO NOT WAIST THE CASH!

A Decent "Shoot 'Em Up"; but could have been much better

I bought this game thinking it would really be something special. The concept was great; after all, didn't we all play with those little green and tan plastic soldiers as kids? Now, those little guys are still at war and are now fully annimated thatnks to the folks at 3D0. The game start out very strong, with a neat WWII style black and newsreel from the "green plastic news." The newsreel decries the Tan nations invasion of the green and vows to repel the Tan agressors. This is really kind of cute and very well done. This, unfortunately, is one of the game's highligths.

The graphics are subpar--not a whole lot of detail and innovation. Also, especially in the desert setting, the Tan soldiers can be difficult to see from a distance. Also, when you kill a tan soldier, his body just disappears from the battlefield...a nice touch of realism would have been a let it stay there so you could have a battlefield full of Tan soldiers. The sound in this game is average at best...again a nice touch of realism would have been to have the various soldiers shouting and screaming to make it more like the chaos of real combat.

Do I like this game? Yeah, I do. Will I buy other titles in the "Army Men" seriers? Yeah, I will. The concept is great. Still, the graphics are nothing special and there's not enough realism in it for me. If you're looking for a realistic WWII first person shooter, spend your hard earned $ wisely on a game like "Medal Of Honor."

The "Army Men" series has a lot of potential, hoppefully future releases will have been graphics are more realism

Shoot em full of holes and fill em with lead!

This game has a one player and a two player option. I like the two player mode best. I will describe it first. There are 5 different battle grounds to fight over and the graphics are great, the format is capture the flag, along the way you will find weapons such as bazooka, mortar, grenades, automatic rife, flamethrower, tanks, .50 caliber machine gun and mines. You will also get men to assign for defence or attack. If you have a buddy at the same skill level the game is so addictive that it's hard to stop playing. The are super sound effects (check out the death scream!) and you can turn off the music to make it more realistic. The one player game is fun and challenging it be sure but nothing like laying an ambush for your co-player in the two player mode. Chase him into a mine field and stand back. The one player mode has several different missions that reqiure different tasks to be completed (such as blowing up a bridge and a radio tower) as well as having to mow down hordes of plastic commies. At this price you cannot go wrong, this is a good game, easy controls and quick load times.

Pretty un Game

This will be short, the game is fun but I think personally if you don't have any cheats codes or a game shark the game would be extremly hard and frustrating.

I ordered this game just because it was cheap a few days ago. Well when it arrived, i didn't think much of it and just layed it aside to do later. When i finally got around to it, i thought it was horrible. I cursed at the horrible controls, single-stick setup, and simplistic play. Who'd have thought that 10 minutes later i'd be loving it. At first it seems that the duck, roll, and aim features were just slapped on features added becasue every other game has them. But after i died once on the first level i realized how sophisticated this game really is. You have to learn how to use these things. The levels have cover spread out at perfect spots, near enemy soldiers. The typical way of atttack is run up to the cover, duck behind it, roll out, shoot, roll back in. Still, you can put these in any order that you want, or just forget the cover and do fancy rolling to dodge bullets while charging the enemy. But be warned: this game can get HARD! especially on any other setting besides easy. Overall, this game is worth buying. Even if the story is too simple and you dont really understand why you are doing the objectives (why do i have to get to the west end of town??), this is a great game to play in your spare time (its not the kind of game you'll really get into. But its still fun). BUY IT!!

INCREDIBLE

Army Men 3D has to be the best game I own. As soon as I bought it I was instantly absessed! It has over 15 missions which are all cool and interesting. Whether its rescueing men or blowing up towers, some times just plain out wiping out armies, its all out fun. fire rifles, mortars, bazookas, or throw grenades. Sometimes when feeling frustrated you can always lay down some explosives! Drive 4 different vehicles including jeeps or tanks!

The only downside to this game is the graphics. they sure aint perfect but they are not as bad as some people would say. You can always easily make out your charachter but some times the tean enemy can camoflauge with the terrain.

This shouldnt be enough to keep you from buying this nearly perfect game!
