This game would be alright, had I never played the original. The original game's humor was much better. The plot was more interesting. The game's physics made the game more enjoyable. For instance, the
holo-bob feature seemed a lot more sleaker than the body snatch feature in the sequel. Do your self a favor and stay away from this one, rent only.
If you liked the first game, STAY AWAY from this one.

Just plain awful. Why change the controls? What was so terrible with the first game that everything had to change? I bought this game because I absolutely loved DAH, but this seems like it was just thrown together over a weekend. First of all, the controls are just plain weird. The jetpack has an awkward feel, and the holobob feature from the first game is replaced with bodysnatching, which just does not make for a smooth gaming experience. The most obnoxious part of this game is that you are on a wild goose chase half of the time, and not knowing where to go. They don't offer you many clues as to what you are supposed to be doing half the time on your missions, and it ends up quite tedious. You would be better off throwing this game in the trash. This game completely compromises the integrity of the genius of the first game, so stay away from this pile of garbage.
Less fun than the original

The original was good because you started off at a low level, shooting at cows and chickens. This one throws you into a city in the 70s and it is hella lame. You hear the same stupid comments from passerby over and over, and believe me, they are only funny once. The game seems to have no point. I hate Crypto and his Jack Nicholson voice.
I bought this one for the co-op multiplayer. I thought the first one would be a lot better if it was multiplayer, so I'm glad they did this. However it is utter confusion. For some reason if my parter got too far away from me, it would zap him to me, or me to him, and I was lost. I managed to get through a few missions but I have no idea how I did it or what was even going on. This is a big mess. Thank god I bought it from another store who will let me return it.

I must say I bought this game right away because we enjoyed the first one so much. I love the game and had a ton of fun playing it. However, the commentary was just too long and it took us just a short time to beat the game.
However, there are lots of things to do. Lot's of interesting and annoying remarks! If your looking for an interesting game buy this game it was a ton of fun!

Destroy All Humans was a great game and this is just as good, if not better.
They really didn't change that much, they simply took good old Crypto and put him in some new locations, gave him some new fantastic weapons, and some new & creative missions.
First the weapons: In addition to the electricity and disintegration guns from the original game you have things like a shooting disk that drags enemies (or vehicles) around, and "The Meteor Strike" (IMHO the finest weapon ever). There do seem to be a few weapons that either because you get them late in the game or because they have limited ammo really serve no purpose.
The missions are a bit more varied than the first game. There are story missions, optional missions, and Arkvoodle cult missions. The game's story locations include SoCal's "Bay city", England's capital "Albion", The island nation off the coast of China "Takoshima", a Russian town "Tungska", and "Solaris", a moon base. The Arkvoodle missions have some of the funniest material in the game. Essentially you are trying to convince groups to join your cult with a number of funny possible responses to their specific needs.
They also added a multiplayer aspect to the game. It is good, but you are tethered to your 2nd player rather than just each freely roaming. I do love that all of the game can be 2-player, not just particular missions.
Finally there are some negatives. First, I can't be sure, but I think this is the same engine as the first game. Nothing inherently bad with that (see Grand Theft Auto 3 & GTA Vice City), but with the same engine it is harder for this game to stand on its own.
Second: there are a lot of bugs in the game. Since it has an auto save, you can't really lose much of anything, but the game did freeze up on me during game play. Most of the bugs seem to be related to defeated enemies. For example someone dies on you and you are stuck in that place until the game works around that bug by launching you high into the air. That happened all the time. You will notice that most of these bugs do not stop game play or cause you to lose saved info the way other game's might.
Finally, and worst of all, the game is easy (also no difficulty settings). I may have failed a few missions due to getting shot to death or drowning (crypto can't swim), but you completely heal after 10-15 seconds of not getting shot. It is rather hard to die if you are even slightly careful. In a pinch you can use a mind control technique "Free love" where everyone will start to hippie dance and not notice you.
This game is quite literally the original game with new locations, weapons, & missions - not that there is anything wrong with that. DAH! was a great game. This game is the same essential game with more "stuff". Also for the record this game is hilarious. If you enjoyed the first game then pick this one up.

All my son did was talk about the first version so when I found this one at such a cheap price, I had to go there. He is very happy and his sister plays too.
Just as good as the first one!!!!

Destroy all Humans! 2 is just as good as the first one in many ways. In D.A.H.2, You still play as Crypto and you get a whole lot more weapons! I love the fact that you actually take control over other people's bodies. Although, the reason why I gave the game four stars is because it can get a little repetitive at some times. The best part about this game is that it is multiplayer! Overall, it's a pretty cool game.
a lot of fun and time consuming

My son loves this game but to be fair, I warn you that it uses a lot of slang words including but not limited to the D--n word. I'm not too thrilled about that.
GREAT FUN GAME!

Destroy all Humans 1 was hilarious and the fun doesn't stop with Destroy all Humans 2. This time you get to choose what Crypto says to people. I highly suggest not going with the flow in conversations. Get a good laugh from what he says and responses he gets.
Some people hated the pop scenes in the original. Well, if you don't like that then you are out of luck. DAH2 has it too. I don't mind it though.
Crypto has few kickass guns to use and more mental abilities. Sauser has more weapons and upgrades as well. My two favorite weapons is Gastro and Anti-Gravity. Technically Gastro isn't a weapon but you will understand if you play the game.
NO MORE HOLOBOB. I hated that in the original and I am glad it is gone. They changed it to Body Swap. Crypto takes control of a person.
You don't fly off to the mothership for new missions any more. I won't say why but it will be clear early on. You use the sauser to travel the globe without having to goto the mothership.
You no longer collect DNA but not FuronTech. They are green glowing things around the cities but also gained from successful missions.
The game takes you to the following cities; Bay City [USA], Albion [UK], Takoshima [Japan], and Tunguska [Russia], and Solaris [Not on Earth]
The story intially involves alot of hippies. Don't be fooled. Destroy all Humans! 2 has much bigger plot. You will understand more in Russia but you start seeing tad bits in UK. There is a huge story arc. Consider the game Furon Empire vs **Secret**. If you want to know the secret, buy the game.
Some Suggestions to buyers:
1. Do side missions.
3. Focus upgrades on Shields -- Personal and Sauser.
3. Focus other upgrades on Death Ray, Disintegrator, and Anti-Gravity Field ASAP.
4. You grain more mental abilities with the Gene Blender.
If you want help with the game, Check out Pandemic Studios forum. I am a member there myself.
Now place that Order or buy it a local store. You will enjoy the game.
