Its so hard to handle your car that you lose every race. The graphics may be great, but the way they made this game is poor. I would maybe rent it but dont buy it because I took it to a used game shop to sell after I played it once. Dont get this.

better than gt3!

This game is better than any racer on the market! With cool cell shading and great sound.The single player is fun. You can get any car for free and customise it any way you want. The best feature though is the online multiplayer. You can have racing teams which are like clans. Also you can upload your car from the single player mode so you have a car no one else has.

Ok, now I know that I will probably get blasted by this but, this game was really not that great. I was SO looking forward to this game for the past few months. My main complaints are as follows: GRAPHICS: now don't get me wrong the cars look great, it's just everything else. Scenery, or lack thereof, lacks detail and there really is nothing else to look at but the cars. PHYSICS: these cars are WAY to sensitive. Just about any amount of pressure is enough to make you spin out if your not careful. CHALLENGE: ok something is wrong if you can finish all the races and only lose one of them (late spinout - see physics statement). Lastly, the CUSTOMIZE section: this was the one part of the game that was hyped the most and I'm sure most people were looking forward too, but let's face it, there really isn't that much to it. Except for rims, you basically have just a few parts for each section of your car (all cars use the same parts). The one thing I did like was the two player and online modes. They are about the only thing that I can recommend this game for. As long as people online use broadband like it says to. Nothing more irritating than trying to play against a dial-up competitor. If your looking for a driving game stick to Gran Turismo or Midnight Club.

this game is so stupid! please save yourslef the 50 bucks of complete pointlesness! the only reason i didnt give it 1 star is because of the online play. its the only +.

Ya, this game is not the greatest racing game I've played...I mean, even Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero is better than this. The only thing I like about this game is there is a lot of cars to choose from, it doesn't cost to get parts, and you can decorate your garage. Decorating your garage is the coolest thing. You can put any kind of posters you win up, and you can put all the other things you win. To me, thats probably the best part of the game. The racing looks so kiddyish, and the turning is kind of wierd. I havent played online yet so maybe that might be better than the single-player. Im gonna go play Counter-Strike...Im out!

This game is mostly hype. I was hoping for GT3 with cell shading but that's not what this game is. The graphics are different but there are a lot of jaggies and pixelization. Most of the cars upgrades are avaliable for free so why work hard to get your car in shape? The controls are too sensative. Turn alittle to much and the car spins out coming to a complete stop. I can't count the number of races I was leading but spun out and ended up 6th. I also found the special effects from the tires and of the line when driving fast to be very annoying.

This game is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played, and although all serious gamers know graphics do not make a game, they sure do help in auto modellista. The graphics are what drew me in from the beginning. The anime-cel-shaded style of the game is drop dead gorgeous. Both the cars and the tracks (especially the highways set in japan) are breath taking.
Auto Modellista is extremely exciting. My palms were actually sweating in the up and downhill mountain tracks, which are definately the games most fun and challenging tracks. The highway tracks are also very exciting. You actually feel the speed (especially with the Shelby Cobra tuned for US speedway).
This game would have been PERFECT, if the controls and physics were tighter. Sometimes you skid out rediculously and don't even know why, and other times you can literally bounce of the walls and maintain great speed down the track. The cars seem to be made of indestructable rubber, bouncing off each other instead of colliding and slowing down or stopping like real cars would. You can be going 215 miles an hour and collide straight into a wall, only to bounce right on track at 150 miles an hour. It's stupid. This aspect becomes annoying, because you can basically feel like your CHEATING throughout the whole track. I would have liked it to be alot more realistic, it truly kills the challenge. Another thing, as another reviewer has stated, the cars seem to be running on ice. You skid for no reason sometimes and have to struggle to keep the car straight on a straight away. It makes no damn sense. If the controls were up to par with Gran Turismo 3, or even just REALISITIC, this game would have been on my top 3 of all time.
If you want realistic physics and handling, stick to Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec.
Another big annoyance is the fact that there are no class separations. If you pick a car below 200 horsepower, you are basically [out classed]. GT3s class system was perfect. No matter what car you picked, the races were fair. Definately not the case here. It makes you wonder why capcom even put the cars in the game, if you're just going to [lose] everytime u use one.
This game is fun, if you can get over its flaws. It makes you feel like you are part of an anime, and as corny as it may sound, being the anime fiend I am, it is an extremely enjoyable experience. But regardless, the serious gamer in me can't help but feel disappointed. Hopefully, the sequel addicts at capcom will release a much improved sequel, and make this game the classic it should have been the first time around.

This game is sick. you build your own cars and race other peolple on line. The only thing that dosent happen that should is the crashing of your car. But the animated graphics are great so it makes up for the crashing of the cars. The online play is the best cause you can make up your own team and race with other teams.

Yeah... I dont like racing games. Generally. Then I went to my friend's house, played the game, and could not take my eyes off the screen for 10 hours. It didnt get boring either... I recommend it very much....
