Stuck on level one

I have spent several hours on this game. The hugest defect is you cannot save the game when you want. I am stuck on level 1 ("training!"). After having collected about 20 amulets, a message says "now go find your brother Emile". No way I could find that rat. And all the times I want to try, I have to start everything from the beginning. And I am forced to watch again all the instructions videos, as you cannot skip those! Unbelievable. And it's true: all the walkthroughs on the internet are completely useless, because the PS3 game is completely different from the other platforms. It's a pity, because they put a lot of work on this game which potentially would be very nice.

Mildly positive

Got it for my 5-1/2 year old son. He likes it a lot, but has trouble with some of the controls and seems to be stuck perpetually on level 1. Also, does not have 1080p High Def output but still looks great on the screen.

A Pain in the Patootie

We bought it thinking it'd be cute for the kids.

Well, it is cute. At first. Then you realize that some rule-loving capo must've designed it. It's a maddening game. You get hardly any direction at all, which would be cool if you didn't get stuck. And remain stuck because you have no idea what the next step is.

The kids like the mini games but the actual adventure? Such as looking for all the charms in a scene? Drove them crazy. They ended up abandoning the game.

I peeked for cheats online, but it seems like most users get sick of this game. Such an unfriendly one. : (

Soooo Frustrating!!!

This is a child's game???

I was looking forward to an elementary game with easy missions like, "Go find the correct spice so that you can help Linguini make a good soup - but watch out for the bad-tempered chefs in the kitchen." I thought it would be fun to dash around the kitchen and dining room in a sort of extended version of the movie.

But no, I haven't earned that privilege yet as I've been stuck for days in a boring alleyway behind Gusteau's restaurant trying to perch onto three stupid broom handles so that I can proceed to the top of the archway and scare the dumb dog away from the back entrance.

I wouldn't have a problem with these missions if the program weren't so finicky in its requirements for expert controller handling in balancing on the tips of paint brushes and small rotating objects. You have to get the camera angle just right and point Remy's nose in precisely the correct orientation to make it across some pipes, and of course, my big problem - to perch and jump in the proper direction. GRRRRR.

Also, the "highlighted points" that show you where Remy can jump are sometimes so discreetly highlighted, you would have no idea where to go unless you downloaded a walkthrough.

Note: free walkthroughs for Ratatouille on PS3 are virtually impossible to come by - I had to pay a small fee for mine. There are plenty of free walkthroughs for PS2 and other platforms, but they are useless for this version. Those versions actually sound like fun....

The graphics are pretty good, though, and the potential for a really amusing and cute game is there, but this has got to be the most frustrating game I have played!!!!

A fun game that`s not too difficult.

This game is intended for either younger kids or casual gamers. For that audience I think it is a fun game. The graphic quality is 720p. It is not as good looking as most other PS3 games, but it is a level above the PS2 or Wii versions. I have played those versions as well by renting them. I think the Wii version is the most fun to play due to the controller. But the PS3 version is nearly as much fun to play while looking better and adding some new gameplay elements not included in other versions. The PS3 version is slightly more challenging to play than the other versions, but the average 10 year old can figure out all the puzzles.
There is a glitch in the first level where the voice audio is missing. After about five minutes you can hear them talk.
