This is a good game. I am glad to see that EA is still supporting the dying MAC OS with great new games like this. The gameplay is good, and this is better than the Windows version. If you like any other Medal of Honor games, check this one out. If you play console games, you will be pleased to know that this plays better tan what is on the Playstation and looks better than what is on the Dreamcast. A must-buy for all MAC owners.

Thank God for A Good Game

A very fun on-line multiplayer game ... somewhere in feeling between your classic first person shooters (like Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament) and your planning and strategy FPS's like the Tom Clancy games.

The single player component of this game, however, is pretty poor. It's so difficult even on "easy" that the whole game just becomes a tedious process of trial and error. Many levels are impossible to finish until you die a couple dozen times, thereby learning where all the enemies are or what pattern you have to follow to make it thru unscathed. What fun is to die a dozen times, and then finally finish the level knowing that you only made it thru 'cus now you know exactly where every enemy is? Very poor game design. It's a shame ... if you didn't have to fail a dozen times each level just to finally "succeed", this would be the most fun game since Deus Ex.

Like I said tho ... multiplayer online is fun ... buy it for that if you have broadband.

Very exciting WWII combat

What a great game. As exciting as Aliens vs. Predator, and full of WWII combat "flavor".

Pluses: (1) Great levels and visuals. Lots of detail, weather effects, etc. Imagine going through a ruined German village during a rainstorm, looking for German squads and snipers. Intense. (2) Enemy AI - very smart (for the most part). They'll take cover, group up, throw handgrenades, spray around corners with a machine gun, etc. This area impressed me. (3) Did I mention handgrenades? This is the first FPS game I played where the enemy used handgrenades to good effect.

Minuses: (1) Sometimes you're with a squad of your own soldiers, and sometimes they're not too bright. On the other hand, they can sometimes show you where the enemy snipers are just by the direction they're firing in. Not a big deal, except for the level where you're supposed to keep them alive... (2) Snipers are tough to kill, sometimes _very_ tough. And one level is almost all snipers - kind of a sniper alley - and very, very difficult. I finally had to resort to a walk-through to find out at least the general area where the snipers were.

All in all, a very good game. Multiplayer is fun too.

Doesn't Deserve a Medal

This game is ok and can be entertaining - but hardly a classic deserving more than 4 stars. Its just an average game and that's why I went with 3 stars. I'm surprised at the number of great reviews, and perhaps the reviews pumped up my expectations, but I'm left disappointed by the overall game's experience.

PROS: The graphics are great and the plot is historically interesting - especially if you like WWII type games

CONS: Boring weapons (that hardly ever change), no gore, parts of the game oftentimes seem way to hard or way to easy.

If you like the realistic things this game brings to the table historically with the plot, weapons, etc you'll enjoy it. Otherwise I would suggest you skip it. The game has left me very disappointed. There are so many FPS out there and I don't see how this one deserves a medal outside of the graphics. As examples - I thought Soldier of Fortune II and Return to Castle Wolf were all around better experiences. Both of these games were constantly absorbing me and scaring the heck out of me. With Media of Honor I feel like I am playing a lame Quake 3 WWII mod with limited weapons and linear action.

How Can You Not Fall In Love?

I purchased Medal Of Honor at Mac World 2002 and I love it! I am always playing online against other people and its so fun. Another reviewer mentioned boring weapons and no blood. Well, the game is rated T for Teen. If blood was put in the rating will be raised to M. What is so good about blood anyway?

The weapons are great! You only can select from a rifle, sniper, Sub Machine Gun, Machine Gun, and Rocket Launcher/Grenade Launcher. With any weapon you select, you are automaticly loaded with grenades and a pistol. These weapons each have their own guide to using. For example if you have an SMG and somone is trying to snipe you, you must know how to strafe but still controll yourself. This is only one of the tactics needed to play MOH. It is a very complicated game at first but gets easier after some weeks.

The graphics are great and single player mode contains a nice story (aferall, it is WWII).

I strongly recomoned MOH for all action gamers with a G4 and a broadband connection.

Yay!

Ok, so its really hard at some points. But theres one thing that makes up for it all: MULTIPLAYER! Multiplayer is amazing, especially playing Omaha. goood stuff!

One thing that Medal of Honor did for me was help me appreciate Memorial Day. Trying to get through the Omaha Beach level, I had to sit back and realize (after my 50th death) that those guys could not "save" their game, "try again", or enter a cheat code.

To you in the military, I salute you. The five stars are for you.

what a dud

I had more fun assembling my kids toys with instructions in koren and no pictures than i did with this game. I can see where it can require 3 hands and is a fast paced game. But it is extremely difficult to command and stay alive. I can not understand how anyone can play it and have fun.
